There should be a spacer of some sort to go in there. You need something or a combination of things that stick out just far enough to hold top gear off the frame.

That freewheel looks much too wide. I never go over 7-speed otherwise your rim won't be central.

Hello again saneagle, thanks for your input. I'm just looking at cheap and cheerful freewheels. Would either of these work.. 36.5mm and 34mm for six speed

Thanks.
What freewheel did your bike have before the conversion? You need one with the same number of speeds to match your shifters.

I've got two of these front hub washers. I'll try it with one ago. If you look at the washer I the guy used it was wobbly and I believe it was the core reason for it popping out the drop-outs.
Crikey, you don't have a clue. You shouldn't really be messing with this. You can't just put random parts on the axle and hope. If I were you, and I couldn't find anybody that knows about these things to do it for me, I'd start by chucking all those bits and pieces you have, and buy a packet of 20mm x 12mm washers. Put as many as it takes on the axle until the stack is about 2mm outside of the freewheel.

Thanks for the wake up call. I'm going to scrap the frame and use the kt, controller and hub as spares for my new bike. The rear drop outs are too damaged even for it to go back to an original bike. It's not worth the risk .

I think that's a wise decision in this case. When you get the new bike, run the build by us s5age by stage so that you don't get in the same mess again. We're always happy to help.

I'll look around for a new ebike rather than a kit. I do prefer rear wheel hubs over built in mid drives, they'll ok expensive to fix. I'll see what people on here recommend. I do know of the woosh and whisper brands.
