fwiw spoke sets i bought via amazon were £12-14 per 36x set. might not be the best racing spokes, but they worked and when i got the size wrong were easy to send back,

Not suggesting you dont attempt to size your spokes correctly first time.. but if you screw that up its not the end of the world..

Update.
Ordered a new wheel rim on the 27th February. As of today 18th match it's getting ready to cross to UK I think. Taking ages.

Another update.
On other thread my 25.4mm 1 inch steerer bearing is on it's way. That's taking ages as well.
When it all arrives I want to get it all put together with disc brakes on my old MTB.

Did you order from AliExpress? My AliExpress rims arrived in about a week. I always check if the seller intends to send using a fast method within 5 to 14 days, and I order from some other seller if time to delivery isn't clear. If order value is high, AliExpress sometimes bump up delivery to fast. Or as fast as it can be from China, which weirdly is occasionally faster than than delivering from the UK.

Update.

New rim seems fine. I'm in the process of swapping which is taking time. I'll have another go tomorrow which should see it on. Unfortunately I mangled a spoke nipple so will need to find a replacement.

Get some tape and block off all the unused castellations on your spoke tool ( top of pic) , It will save you LOTS of frustration..

I see your spoke by spoke replacement strategy, but suggest instead you strip the one rim and lace the new one in two steps instead, fwiw i used 3x plant pots, 1x to support the hub and the other two to balance the rim at the same height, = zero cable anxiety.

its a simple every other hole pattern for the first side of the hub (for spokes in the rim and spoke direction through the hub holes) and filling in the gaps for the 2nd, but do expect at least one false start.
But any errors are simply practice runs, and when you make as many as i did (wrong size spokes too) it takes no time at all to become pretty quick at it ;) Tho its a bummer to come to the end and find the empty hole your expecting to fill already full and you glance circa 180 degrees around the rim to spot the 2 empty holes together or 2x spokes together!!

some web tutorials suggest using decorators easy peel tape to block off every other rim hole - wish i had..

I ordered a new park tool spoke key from Amazon that's just arrived and it don't fit. Fits my other bike wheel though.
Guess I'll have another go buying a key. I think it's 3.7mm.
I need to study how up on spoke nipples and look at options for buying. I just need one

Hi all.
Am I right in thinking I'll never buy a matching spoke nipple?
14.2mm long. 2.5mm thread for a 5mm rim hole. Maybe the best way is to buy a new spoke and probably cheaper.
Annoying as I just need one.
Also...how do spokes come out? It's detached but I cant get it out at the centre hub. Can't find anything on YouTube so will have another look tomorrow.

TAKE CARE OF EVERY NIPPLE!!! All the spoke sets i have bought (too many) come with exactly 36x spokes and nipples NO spares or extra's.
Hands n knees time maybe?
If available i would expect them to be defined by the spoke gauge ?
It seems bike engineer 101 maybe NEVER LOOSE A NIPPLE/component? obviously no bike engineer has ever used a flap bottomed box for removed parts..

If a loose spoke isnt just free, keep going undoing more until the rim is free to move off the whole spoke length, and give the spoke J end a squirt of wd40- tho if at all corroded i think replacement spokes at circa £10-20 is in order.

Update.
Tbh I was losing confidence. But...
Omg! I've actually done it . I can't believe it!.
I got the rim on and dropped wheel in the stand. Gave it a spin and thought I'm in trouble here! Massive wobble right and left by about 25mm.
Where do I start?
Well I started by looking from the side and adjusting to keep rim from bobbing up and down.
Then looking from the top adjusting left and right to take out the wobble just by eye.
Then using the rim prongs to fine tune.
I've got it almost perfect now without much effort and I'm so chuffed.
I guess I need to ride it and then have another go as stress will cause some wheel settlement?
I've located some nibbles as two have rounded off a bit so will update thread if they fit.
Will fit this yose wheel on a spare bike later this year with 48v battery.

What a shame. All that effort wasted. You've put the rim on the wrong way round. Your bike will only go backwards now!

If you contact YOSE they may just give you a replacment rim and motor as a return customer.

They offered me a 700C 350W One for £90.00 may be a lot less hassle and not much more in cost if you are getting a shop to fit your old motor ?

Nothing more rewarding then if a bike enthusiast who likes to carry out his/her own repairs , being able to lace and true a rim is a nice skill to have in one's pocket.

To most wheel building is a black art and to look at a complecated task, it isn't until one has grasped the technique and tried it that one realises how much easier it is then it looks.

The build vid i followed included a stress stage, once first balanced and round stand on the spokes if light use a lever if a fatso like me but stress each n every spoke and then retest/balance..

Finally test each spoke is taught, tools exist for the job but i relied on a lil tap from a 10mm ring spanner and my ear..

I'm going to make this wheel dish tool. Although I used 2 bean tins on table and test distance from table to the nut. Seems close enough. I guess it won't be far out using old spokes.
