Firstly I should apologise for not being around lately. We have been massively busy in Germany tidying the loose ends with the Grace contract, and have another announcement which will be posted later today.
We are proud to confirm that Wisper has now entered a UK distribution partnership deal with Grace of Germany.
As you may know GRACE manufacture innovative high-tech e-bikes and pedelecs in Germany, they comply with the highest European quality standards. Company founder, Michael Hecken, designed the Grace Pro, the first e-motorbike authorised for street use in Europe. For the last two years, Michael has worked along side Nicolai of Germany to produce the Grace Easy and Grace MX pedelecs. Nicolai specialises in the development and production of particularly light weight high-quality mountain bike frames and bicycle components. More than forty custom-built items and proprietary developments for the Grace range are manufactured by Nicolai.
In 2011, Grace began production in cooperation with a large German bicycle factory and along with the Grace MX and Grace Easy has now completed the development of the SMART e-bike, which is due to be launched this year.
Interest in the Grace range of e-bikes in Germany has been immense. Grace are now in the process forming partnerships with highly organised distributors in neighbouring countries. Wisper, with our wide experience in distributing and servicing medium to high end electric bikes has been chosen to develop sales and offer dealer support within the United Kingdom.
We will be offering the range of all three Grace bikes but will be specialising in the pedelec versions of the lightweight Grace Easy and the Grace MX mountain bike.
The Grace Easy, is an unpretentious, understated urban pedelec, which combines design, speed and ease of use. It is equipped with a 250-watt BionX direct current motor, which accelerates the bike to 25 km/h, a maintenance-free SRAM 3-speed internal gear hub, a near silent, maintenance free Gates Carbon Drive, which has a life span three times longer than that of a bicycle chain, and regenerative hydraulic disc brakes, which recover energy thus increasing range. Batteries can be charged both on and off the bike.
The sturdy GRACE MX electric mountain bike combines the technical innovations of the Gates carbon belt drive with the NuVinci N360 transmission system and the Bosch mid-motor. The Grace MX down tube has been cleverly divided into three parts, facilitating the optimal combination of frame and drive. The battery is inserted from below and is fully protected against stone chippings and dirt. The motor is completely integrated into the frame and is mounted at an angle of 45 degrees to facilitate a short wheelbase as well as ample ground clearance.
A lowered top tube provides for a sporty all-terrain configuration, the extremely rigid frame is reinforced with the addition of gussets. All wiring and cables are protected inside the frame, whilst an upright sitting position increases the rider’s comfort.
High-quality components are completed by the addition of Rockshox suspension forks, Avid brakes and Ride rims. A Busch & Müller lighting system is available as an option.
The NuVinci N360 hub and the Gates carbon drive ensure that the MX ride is carefree and enjoyable. Adjustable dropouts are arranged horizontally so the drive system can easily be retightened if necessary.
The Grace Easy and Grace MX will be available to view and test at the forthcoming Cycle Show at the NEC in Birmingham. Further details will be on the Wisper web pages next week, but in the mean time if anyone would like further details drop me a PM.
All the best
David
