I would like a proper spec, so we didn´t have to play guessing games as to what the spec. of the bike we have ordered would actually be when it turned up.:) :)

I'll agree with that one, I'm not sure what accessories I need to buy or not and I would like to have everything ready and waiting for when I get the bike.

1. Boost the ECO credibility by alowing facility to charge from solar panel (even if slow and long), would allow free cheap charging (with exception of panael cost of course) on day(s) when not in use.
2. Provision for second battery via panier mount or bottle type mount as the cytronex, provides.
3. Battery replacement/ recycling scheme whereby worn batteries/cells can be regenerated or reconditioned for less than cost of a new one, thus saving on replecement casings etc.

If this was included as standard then it would put me right off
buying the bike, a lot of wieght and money for a negligable difference.

Oh I dunno Killjoy
I think that may be a little unfair? Stop being a Killjoy, Killjoy :D
The specs have now been listed and I have noticed that Wisper will diversify somewhat to save delay on the delivery in some cases so this is not a bad thing.
It certainly doesn't look like someone would be at a loss or out of pocket with regards to spec?
With regards to added things like lights, pump, mudguards etc, I feel these may come down to personal choice? Although I realise that a bell or reflectors for example has to be supplied by law.
I bought mine from Germany and am happy with the spec regardless and there was no choice of spec there :D

You will love it so it doesn't matter about accessories as you will make it your own as I have :D
My front discs were only changed because of a thread on this forum and I don't think that was necessary.
Fundametally my Wisper is as it was supplied really although I have changed the amber reflectors to white, the lights, added a wireless Strada cycle computer, bought a foot pump as easier and have replaced the saddle with a comfy memory foam one as had to loose the seat post. All personal choice as with any bike.

I would agree with point No. 3 (replacing cells) as they do with LAcid batteries but not sold on the rest :D ]

Where's the list? I've been told that my Wisper should be in the shop today, just got to work out the best way to get my hands on it.

Specs for the bikes are available for download on the Wisper Web Site - go the the 905 page and click the orangey buttons on the top right (links reproduced here for your delectation):
You'll need to download the spec sheet for the 905 Eco, as the other 2 specs start by saying "as 905 Eco with the following additions and upgrades".

The 905SE City S which a lot of people seem to have doesn't have an 'official' spec, but as WEVCO rarely seem to have any 905SE City's available, they often offer City customers a Sport with 'City' mudguards, lights (as the Sport doesn't have the front wheel dynamo found on the City) and a luggage rack (hence 905SE City S). IMO its actually a better spec than the City.

That's a bit out of date now and the last batch were all Sport models and needed converting. I don't know quite what I will be recieving but I am confident I will be happy with it though it would be nice to know before it lands on my doorstep.

Hi Elephants
I don't think those links are out dated are they? They are relatively new I thought and are pretty clear.

Have you got your Wisper yet? I am sure you will love it :D
Mine is a pretty old spec in comparison and I love it anyways :D

For me, I would particularly like:

1) A range of frame sizes - On this thread alone members heights range from 4' 11" - 6' 5", a 'one size fits all' approach just feels a little archaic & seems to be an issue for a number of people I've spoken to. Imagine if the same approach had been taken with trousers!! or if you had a fixed position car seat, it just wouldn't happen.

2) Extended range - One of the first things I considered when searching for an electric bike - my daily commute is 26 miles, I then need to travel within my working role. A range of 50 miles on a single charge would be ideal for me, but doubt how realistic I'm being.

3) Built in security system - these bikes are expensive items, again this would no doubt be hard to acheive, but seems pretty fundamental to me.

I wasn´t trying to be a killjoy but, whilst there may now be defined specs for all the different models that wasn´t the situation when I ordered mine. I wanted a city but was told that they wouldn´t be available for a while so settled for a sports with a carrier thrown in - so small guards and disc front brake. A spec. I am more than happy to have and look forward to getting. But my point was that I like many others have read conflicting reports as to what will actually turn up when the contianer is opened in spite of the specs. on the web sites.

Many thoughts over charging and batteries:

I'd like a relatively well concealed battery a la sparta ion or cytronex,

I'd like a battery that i can replace on the open market. (real wishy stuff at the minute!)

The option to remove the battery to charge with a seperate charger.

The option to charge the battery while it's mounted on the bike into a normal plug socket via a cunning charging system.

The option to plug the battery while mounted into any common commercial e-vehicle chargiing system. Eg the large network being deployed across Holland or the ones in Westminster ( i realise this might be dreamy and outside your control)

The option to fit a second lockable battery to extend range.

And its been said before... the option to charge\run other devices of my bike battery.

mmmmm I reckon theres a lot yet to happen in battery and charger design.....

I dont mean carry it arround or attach it to the bike but a facility to charge while it sitting in a garage or shed when not in use, in much the same way (although with a bigger version, some microlight owners use 'solar battery savers' to keep the lead acids topped up when not in use. That said I may have just resolved my own idea via a panel and inverter!

Thanks Moon

The next lot of bikes in have a folding key so it lays flat on the battery.

If anyone needs a manual, drop me a PM and I will send one to you.

Best regards David
Hi David,

I got 2 keys when I pick up my wisper on Friday, neither of which are folding!?! The key is already starting to bend!

Hi David
The same goes for me - I picked my 905se Sport up on Thursday, but both keys are not folding and are easy to knock/kick. A couple of other things to mention that I had read elsewhere were meant to be fixed now?
1: The left grip is quite loose and keeps slipping off the handlebars
2: The brakes are really, really spongy (both front and rear). I'm probably going to replace the brake cables soon as I want the braking to be more effective!
Overall I'm really happy with the bike though. I have now completed 2 commutes to work - quite hilly, 23 miles each way - and it has been a pleasure. Not something I would have said about my push-bike! Once I've had the bike a bit longer, I'll contribute my thoughts to the wish list and reviews forums!
Cheers,
Howard

Hi Howard,

I've found that after the key has bent a certain amount your foot doesn't hit it anymore, so I make sure I always put it in bent side up now .

1: The left grip is quite loose and keeps slipping off the handlebars
flecc suggested this in another thread:
A drop of rubber solution from your puncture repair kit smeared around the bar and then the rubber grip quickly pushed over that before it sets will do the trick Griswold. Just leave it to set for a few hours afterwards. That holds the grip firmly but the seal can be broken if removal is desired at a later date.
.
