August 4, 20178 yr Is it just a mobility scooter with a top on. Saw something similar last week with an old man in it
August 4, 20178 yr Author yes, as above, and that motor is getting bloomin` noisy!! Grease?? Perhaps you're right there. How do I do that? What grease should I use?
August 4, 20178 yr Depends what you have there, mid-drive or hub. Something like AeroShell grease possibly. Bit more noisy than in your first videos that`s all.

August 4, 20178 yr Ok Hub, prob some more knowledgeable soul like d8 could shed some more light on the innards of that one.
August 4, 20178 yr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DFpAx6PCV8 You seem to always come across electric vehicles in the park. That one is so cute. I wonder if that can handle off road with high jumping heavy dirt tracks. MS.
August 4, 20178 yr Author You seem to always come across electric vehicles in the park. We're all bone idle cheaters around here. Ok Hub, prob some more knowledgeable soul like d8 could shed some more light on the innards of that one. It's a 250w Oxydrive kit motor, if that info helps. Is it a big job and a big risk if I give it a go myself? I'll wait for now, for more experienced advice and guidance..
August 4, 20178 yr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DFpAx6PCV8 Standard Class 3 covered mobility scooter - possibly a Shoprider. Gaz
August 4, 20178 yr Queue buster in the shopping centre.. especially with some old codger in it that can't drive.
August 4, 20178 yr I had a look at those lately when in desperation to get something covered. "If I could accept a lowly 8mph top speed and a few laughs, how much would one of those be" I asked myself £5,500. Err, no. I'll just keep getting wet. You don't even get ICE in it
August 4, 20178 yr Perhaps you're right there. How do I do that? What grease should I use? I'm not so sure it's the hub. My oxydrive controller makes a terrible racket similar to that at very low speed in mode 2 or 3 but is ok at higher speed. If you do suspect the hub remove the six M5/6's and it should quite easily pull a apart, clean out any old black treacle and re-grease mobil or shell Areogrease are good. Whilst at it check the side plate bearing for wear & play.

After another good ride and a good listen, I'm inclined to suspect the same Nealh. It tends to only make a racket going up steep hills. Especially when I press the throttle. Unless you take the doors off and do the splits while driving it at least. By the way I looked up a milk float in my desperation too, damn. Still need a license. What's a guy gotta do to get a roof on something without holding a license XD Big gap in the market there. All you entrepreneurs reading, get on it
August 5, 20178 yr Motors don't normally need greasing so soon. That's an ordinary Bafang motor. I'm not sure which model it is. Most of the noise is caused by the controller. I'd be inclined to change it to a sine wave one, like the S06S and S-LCD3 from BMSBattery. Grease won't hurt. it might be worth checking that water hasn't got in. IIRC, you take out the 6 screws in the side-plate, then you can remove it along with the entire motor core. The gears are on the other side, so easy to grease.
