Motors don't normally need greasing so soon. That's an ordinary Bafang motor. I'm not sure which model it is.
Most of the noise is caused by the controller. I'd be inclined to change it to a sine wave one, like the S06S and S-LCD3 from BMSBattery.
Grease won't hurt. it might be worth checking that water hasn't got in. IIRC, you take out the 6 screws in the side-plate, then you can remove it along with the entire motor core. The gears are on the other side, so easy to grease.
