OK all the ones I have seen here were bosch I didn't know they did Yamaha

So comparing with SDURO trekking which is the same price - 500 Wh BH vs 400 Wh Haibike that is 25% more. And the cells are Samsung, Haibike doesn't say which cells it uses.

If you think u can have a good aftersales service then go for it. The trekking costs 2350£ vs 2700£ and has lots of accessories. (Mudguards, lights).

I find Haibike to be a more supported make in the UK and Europe for that matter.

The difference in wattage is something to think of but again from 90Nm to 70Nm on the yamaha motor I'd say the difference would be very small.
I have tried a yamaha vs a botch motor as a test and couldn't spot a major difference. Maybe if both bikes have the same weight and tyres you could notice the power difference.

If I can happily ride the mountain trails of the Bernese Oberland using a Bosch Performance line motor which puts out 60Nm, then I really doubt that anyone needs more than what the Yamaha is putting out.

Depending upon how the torque is delivered, I'd even go as far as to say that more torque could have a very detrimental effect, and completely work against you in an off road situation.

I'd also agree about Haibike being better supported, at least within the UK.
I can't answer for any other parts of Europe. Haibike certainly wouldn't have to work their business around what felt like countless Spanish holidays where nothing gets done, and no support is given. Something that I have very bad memories of.

I have a fisherman friend who has a Haibike which he bought in Germany off the internet because it was "much cheaper than the local French dealer". Which does not bode well for after sales support if something goes wrong with it.

Executive summary:

- I like the style of the bike the OP pointed out and it has the range I need and would consider it if I had the cash
- I would not worry too much about support because I would be buying from a local factory outlet shop
- I have a calendar on the wall with all the Spanish holidays on it

It took me a while to get used to the Spanish working day but once you adapt it becomes clear that they may be onto something. In any case you can't argue about quality of life...

I migt tease at times, but I'm quite sure they are onto something. As someone who cut his working life to the minimum of years necessary I can't argue with that.

There hasn't been an English Distributor, BH is / was sold direct to UK dealers...
