Battery in pannier bag? Not an optimal placement.
Well, I am not asking you to do it. It suits me though. Sometimes it goes in a trunk bag, sometimes a pannier, never gets left on the bike. The last thing I want is to draw attention to my bike when I leave it locked up unattended. Imagine how annoying it would be to get out the pub full of beer and kebab to find bikes been nicked or far more likely some scroat has pry-barred off a bike mounted battery. I’d have to walk up the hill then…
It’s a tiny little 10Ah thing that lives in a waterproof OtterBox and lays flat in the bottom of the pannier.
For my requirements I can’t think of a better position for it, it wasn’t an accident it ended up there.
I’ve also solved the lopsided weight distribution on my later trip today. Two bottles of wine and a bunch of flowers, except I over cooked it and am now veering to the left. Must have been the flowers that tipped it over the edge.
