I have these, it`s like cycling in daylight. Pop them onto high beam when a cars dazzling you and you can see them diving for the dipswitch LOL, I have a spare battery too, adjustable for 1/2 or 3 lights, also any brightness setting, fully adjustable levels. Great in the woods at night, especially in the dogging carpark, Johnny the perv LOL. http://www.magicshineuk.co.uk/magicshine-mj-816e-1800-lumens-wide-angle-bike-light.html

1 cree xhp 70 is 4000lm so say under 3000lm for use in the light case i have it will be like a light sabre for 200m with the lens i have. when i get some that fkn work.

my batts will run it on full beam for 8 hrs @1amp 12v

parts wise its about £25 for each light minus the batts @ £20 for 4 cells.

i think the xhp 70 is putting out about 1800lm @14.3w max is 32w @4022lm.

tho you can never run them that high as get so hot so fast will go over the bin temp of 85c less you can cool it down.

the xhp50 is about 1000lm @8.2w with a max of 19w @ 2546lm.

that is just a ruff guess tho but shows you a 6000lm light from china even tho it is cheap it is no where near its stated output same as the fake 18650 cells.

the xhp 70 led was £11.53 with lens the bike light was £9 so for £20.53 i have made a light you would have to pay a lot more money for ready made as they use these in hi end flash lights.

£96.99 and for what it dont even come with a battery pmsl:eek:

got my other leds to test santa came early lol but seems i have fried the cable in the light as it could not take the voltage and now get a short when i plug it in so ill have to find one with some thicker cable that fits in the hole in the back of the light.

could not sleep so read the thread from page 1 very interesting

soundwave. you should never test leds without heatsinking them first as they will heat the star very fast and die .

it seems you guys are suffering from lack of down the trail throw
you wont find it by just throwing lumens at the problem
this I found out when I was designing and building mtb lights for sale in the early led days

with the larger leds you get a wider flood
I have lenses that will throw a 500 lumen led way farther than any of those chinese multi led lights
yes I also went chasing the lupins because the customer wanted more as a selling point. and as the leds inproved so did the lumen count .
but i soon realised it was the optic or lense that made the light good
also as you are finding out Chinese and ebay lupins are not the same as real world lupins

By the way this is not a covert add as I gave up making and selling lights when china swamped the world with million lumen lights

Where would we be without autocorrect. Just had a mail from grandson in Arabia somewhere complaining about the humanity, he meant humidity.
At least I hope so.

yeah they get hot fast just still waiting for some thermal paste and need to see if i can get some heat sinks cut to size for the back of the light and some thicker power cables.

those lights in the links are 250-300 quid  and i just can not see why they are so expensive as this light i have is under 25 quid.

it has no driver but there not that much 10-20 so why these things are 300 quid a pop just seems there all a rip off.
