how will you be charging them up? as over time if you charge them in the pack with a wall charger they will go out of balance over time.

also its best not to let them go under 3.1v tho spec wise can go as low as 2.5v but they will last a lot longer if you dont let them go under 3.1v just see the spec sheet above.;)

i weighed all 6 cells i have and all are 46g

Hi, That's exactly what mine weigh so all good. I'll charge them out of the pack with a battery charger and replace them as necessary.

The battery pack has a Screw connector and a USB connector can I use the USB to charge my phone/GPS ?

i hope it can charge 18650 cells? but yes its 5v 2000ma output and with those cells will smash any power bank usb you can buy ready made ;)

also there is no short circuit protection so make sure the cells are the right way up when you put them in the case.

well i found the led i have in the new light and guess what again well over spec than what it is tho for 9 quid did not expect much anyway tbh.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261516304598?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=560393756717&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

tho now i have this case and lense will replace the led and driver with a Cree XLamp XHP70 White LED 32w 4000lm 6v driver.

tho the driver and led will cost 20 quid on there own some flash lights with those leds are 100 quid if not more on ebay.;)

Well just an update.

Had mine since 27th August and used it a lot just as delivered, more now with the early dark nights; working lovely for £16. £16 for everything.

Thanks d8veh, I am really happy with it.

Did I mention it was £16 the lot?

you seen how much a sapphire optic lenses costs ;) tho tbh two of these lights as is would do i just want more power as got aplenty to spare.

even tho the led does use less power the lens makes a massive difference how far it throws the beam.

find me one of these for 30 quid and ill buy 2

and then a battery that can run it for 4hrs for 40 quid.

not going to happen ;)

You need a very big hand to hold it as well, if you had two how would you cycle?

the cree u8 i have is 40mm wide so yes they will fit and is alot smaller than the flash light.

the lens is also the same size so should fit the xhp70 led in side it with the driver DSC_0541.JPG
thats 16mm the one in it but also has a groove for a 20mm one if needed ;)

yeah i know its just how much forward current i want to put in to the led as on max it is 4000lm 32w but will get so hot so fast and blow it if im not careful.

i doubt that driver even puts out what it says tbh but my converter with currant and voltage adj is still in the post so might just set that and stick it in my bag for the driver for the lights and get better cooling.;)

Well reverse current will just just take you back to the melting/fire bit.

More than about 1.2 amps forward through the pcb LED will need some cooling and care

if i leave out the driver i could fill the back of the light with oil and then bolt a heat sink to the top of the light and have passive cooling.:D

After two good rides Saturday and Sunday I forgot to charge the pack, left it connected and the battery go flat, DOH!

Went out tonight and the green LED's on the back were dead!

Pretty sure I would have killed it, but left it on charge while I went out for an hour riding.

As soon as I came back tried in and illumination returned. :)

So the low voltage protection cut off does work, pity I did not get to see the LED's on the back go red but again for £ 16 thanks d8veh.

My Moon Meteor is a good back up, considering it's size it is impressive but the battery capacity is just not there for the high setting to be used much.

they have a basic bms in the pack if you take it apart you will find one of these

i think it cuts the voltage at 2.5v tho which is not very good for the cells tbh as set mine to 3.1v cut off because after that they just fall of a cliff voltage wise anyway.
