Jeez, it's like the rancid dribble spouting forth from the worst of the Republican SW stations in the USofA. I really had to pinch myself and make sure it was still a UK forum, with all the nasty, backwards, repressive, fascist leanings being expressed on here.
You should be ashamed of yourselves, I really mean that.
Despicable people.
You disgust me.
The reactions are quite simply born out of frustration Dave. As Dave (d8veh) infers, the ill effects of many components of the welfare state have gone too far, and that's now been the situation for a long time. Gentle protests at this have been ignored, as have later stronger protests, so we now reach a situation where only the most forceful expressions are left to try.

That will remain the situation until our politicians stop merely promising some action and actually deliver it effectively.

If anyone can find an eZee bike from the curret range at a lower equivalent Sterling retail price anywhere on the planet than from Cyclezee I will give that person £100:eek:
In addition to my previous offer, if anyone can find an equivalent spec new eZee conversion kit at a lower retail price anywhere in the world than from Cyclezee, I also will give that person £100;)

I am looking for 18 forum members to claim the kit offer. I just need you to agree to send me £50 of the £100 so I can buy one of his kits and advertise it on Ebay at a lower price.

You get £50 I get a free motor kit;)

Maybe the frustration should be where it belongs with, the greed of the banks, gambling on Subprime mortgages, miss management of the economy by sucsessive goverments, before, and after the global recession, and the failure to control illegal/legal immigration which is now causing severe problems for the unemployed British nationals finding work especially amongst the youth of our nation.

Is that equivalent to or better .... or is the offer insistent upon it being an eZee brand kit only at the base price, or the price it gets to :D

Indeed, those as well Jazper, but they haven't caused the problems that were being complained of earlier in the thread. Those have been long standing, beginning in the earliest days of the welfare state over half a century ago. I remember one newspaper even having a front page cartoon about the abuse half a century ago, long before the existence of other things you mention. Hence the frustration at the continuing political inaction.

As this thread largely seems to be about value for money it was mentioned earlier in the thead about Army personel cuts.
When this was on the news recently I said to my wife it would be better to ditch Trident.
Do we really need such expensive weaponry?
That ought to save a fair bit of public money.
Keep the skilled and well trained Army people in jobs instead.
The British military present a good UK image and do good work for sensible values in this world.

And not just Trident, the forthcoming aircraft carriers have nothing to do with defence, their only use is to take war to other parts of the world. For defence the British Isles are already an aircraft carrier.

I agree that we don't need aircraft carriers, they are mainly used in an offensive capacity, defence of The Falklands and its residents being an exception to that, but I don't think that the Argentines pose much of a threat.

I would disagree over Trident. I think that we need a modern and credible nuclear deterrent. Especially when Iran and What-Times-Me-Dinner-Dad come on line with their nuclear weapons. Also North Korea will soon have the capability to deploy a nuclear device anywhere they like in our country at any time they like.

I think that the only way to balance the threat is to hold an equal or greater strike capability. If we were to disarm, I am not suggesting that it would lead to an immediate nuclear offensive against us, but the world is a changing place. My view is that, sadly, the weapons have been invented and we can't un-invent them (I would be in favour of that). The only sensible option is to hold a massive and deadly deterrent.

with thinking like that ..there goes my Med hoildays. We need to get a grip, pull our necks in and get over the fact that we are on the way to becoming a third world country unless we concentrate on home issues, and stop Bloomin interfering with everyone elses. no wonder they arm themselves!

New zealand a worse example..more single women than any other country as they get involved in every event going, sending all their young men of to war and a lot dont come back.......Its a pea in the middle of an ocean for heavens sake....

Goodness....going to lie down in front of me log burner with me Kindle;)

Its interesting how we all have different takes on contentious subjects.

Personally I refuse to accept that we are on our way to becoming a third world country, no matter what internal problems this country has, we still live in a wonderful country, are way better off than the majority of the rest of the world, and I for one am grateful I was born here.

For me, the defence of this country stands up there alongside education and the health service as 'must haves'.
We have always had to have a strong defence system since forever and I dont see that ever changing.
I dread to think what would happen if we didnt have a credible deterrent in place.

A necessary evil in this even more dangerous world and I think we are under a moral obligation to help other countries when that help is needed and asked for

All I know about the women shortage in New Zealand is that my eldest 40yr old son has lived there for years and doesnt ever seem to find it a problem finding different women......just wish he would grow up and settle down lol
