If it were my bike, I'd get a standard BB, chuck the controller and LCD, fit a standard controller, PAS and throttle and pray that the battery doesn't use comms. Actually, you can check whether it has comms by seeing how many wires are attached to its connector. Two is OK. Any more than 2 isn't.
