I really don't like that curve in the brake wire... I would have thought a straight pull would be more efficient?
I could be wrong but I think the curve will give the braking a more gradual feel.

Breaker 1-9, breaker 1-9, this is the rubber duck. I took a break, to break in my brakes, doing some hard braking. I hope I didn't break it. :)

Disc brake on the front. V-Brake on the rear. The front felt strong and had a little squeak, I'll keep an ear on that.

Just for info really guys..

Is the OXYDrive compatible with hydraulic disc brakes?

Currently you can use it with mechanical disc brakes and the V-brakes type, we are working on the compatible version for hydraulic disc brakes. You could only use it with the hydraulic disc brakes providing that you agree not to have the brake cut off switches installed on your bike.
The motor doesn't care whether you have a mechanical or hydraulic brake. If you wanted a brake switch, you'd have to fabricate your own one, ehich isn't difficult, though it's not really necessary.

If I put my safety officer's hat on, then I'd say, keep your back cable brake, and replace the front one witha hydraulic one. you only need a cut-off on one brake - preferably the back. That's not really a problem because when you have a good brake on the fromt, the back one doesn't do anything because tthe weight gets taken off it under braking, so you can't get any braking force without locking the wheel.

If I take off my fun prevention officer's hat, I'd say fit hydraulics front and rear. Forget about brake switches. Now that controllers have faster response times, they're no longer a legal requirement on most bikes, but, if you have a throttle, it could get broken in a crash or fall, which would make the motor run probably at half speed. If you try and stop it with the brake (no brake switch), you'll blow the controller. I don'y have brake switches on my bike anymore.

That's how cable disc brakes are. The arm has to move in a curve. If the cable was in a straight line, it would have to have a kink wher it joins the lever, which would make it break after a few pulls.

Do it again with a hydraulic v-brake in the front.
