I could be wrong but I think the curve will give the braking a more gradual feel.I really don't like that curve in the brake wire... I would have thought a straight pull would be more efficient?

The motor doesn't care whether you have a mechanical or hydraulic brake. If you wanted a brake switch, you'd have to fabricate your own one, ehich isn't difficult, though it's not really necessary.Just for info really guys..
Is the OXYDrive compatible with hydraulic disc brakes?
Currently you can use it with mechanical disc brakes and the V-brakes type, we are working on the compatible version for hydraulic disc brakes. You could only use it with the hydraulic disc brakes providing that you agree not to have the brake cut off switches installed on your bike.
That's how cable disc brakes are. The arm has to move in a curve. If the cable was in a straight line, it would have to have a kink wher it joins the lever, which would make it break after a few pulls.I really don't like that curve in the brake wire...
