How long does it take??

How long does it take, surely this left the factory nearly 2 weeks ago now !!!

I was hoping to have this in time for any pending fuel crisis !!

IS TODAY THE DAY??

I'M SURE THEY ONCE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER 1000 ORDERS FOR THE PRO CONNECT.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

wouldnt it be great if there was a leaftet with this forums address on and all its benefits..................cos i reckon all them 1000 new pro connect bikers will not all be members on here, it would swell the numbers greatly with plenty of new stories and reviews of the pro connects.........especially if some of them new members worked shifts and only found the time to come on here past midnight cos often im sat here waiting for new stories to read after midnight......now burnscycle has got his bike he wont be burning the candle as will be too knackered to stay up late, of course there is the wise owl Flecc but even he sometimes has an early night.....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

we have had a fuel crisis since they duped us to go with litres..i remember me mum and dad going out of their way to go to a garage offering it 1 or 2 pence a gallon cheaper as did others, they even used to ring each other telling them where the cheapest garage was....now we have litres and there can be 5-9 pence a litre difference in the same town...thats something like 40 pence a gallon difference  ......and no one seems to know or be bothered.........its not like we can say we have e-bikes and are not affected because it put up everything from electric, to tyres to parts ect.... although i was talking to someone yesterday who was in some foreign place that was at a standstill due to nothing moving to do with blockades so maybe it will spread and we will be in our element as we still get to work on time :) ..

Fuel crisis,
I bought my first MotorBike the week we! invaded Suez
Petrol went up by shilling a gallon(from three and six to four and six (shillings) Plus you needed a coupon to get the stuff.
Flecc will remember this, standing round the street lamps talking bikes, cause riding them was out(if you had to get to work)

I certainly do, though I was in the army and involved in the Suez conflict. Petrol was two bob a gallon when I started work.

(bob = shilling = 5 p)

Hi Scott,

Your post really got my hopes up, as I've been waiting for my 57cm Gents Pro Connect since mid-Febriuary. I know it's not quite the end of the week yet - but where's that lorry got to?

Pro-connect ordered.

Hello Guys.

I'm new to this forum, and I'm very interested in electric bikes. I spoke to a gentleman in 50cycles during the week, and he said that supply cannot meet demand at present for both the Pro-connect and the Agattu.

Hi Rookie145, welcome to the forum. That problem of supply not meeting demand has existed since the launch of these bikes, since they were unexpectedly far more popular than the manufacturers involved expected.

It is well deserved popularity though, resulting from their undoubted quality.

The problem has also been compounded by spiralling fuel prices and people all over the continent switiching to alternative forms of transport including e-bikes. However, I waited 6 months for mine and it was well worth it. I have an Agattu and my daily working life has been transformed.

Still not here

The 57cm Pro Connects still havent arrived. Spoke to 50cycles.... even if they do arrive they will now not be dispatched until sometime next week, due to another big order already in the system....

add to that the fuel crisis - be lucky if we see the bikes until July now !!

Hi all.
I just though I'd let you know how im getting on with my Pro-Connect, 1 weeks into my ownership and week long commute.

I've been doing my 5.2 mile, 500 feet climb commute to work each day in
23mins. The bikes a dream to ride and it can handle heavy weights really well.
I've been taking 2 panniers with me that carry a very heavy bike lock and my work stuff.
Although the battery is still in prep mode (2 more charges to go), Ive managed 24miles on a full charge in high power mode constantly.

Mods that I wish I'd had done before pickup are.....
1. Sprung seatpost.
2. Tubes replaced with Schraeder Valves tubes. (The Pro-Connect has woods valves) This issue could cause you extra cost for additional equipment to work with this valve.
If you know little about bike maintainence then I would really get this replaced before pickup.

Regarding the sprocket change.....
The jury is still out about this for me.
Cus im unfit I'm still using the 2nd gear on the 1 in 7 hills, though im sure I could be going in 3rd up these within a month or so.
Due to this reason im not changing yet to the 18 tooth sprocket.
Also I think a sprocket change may depend on where you live.
I live in Sheffield where its all up and down with little flat zones.
So im really only chugging up hills or flying down them.
On the flat you could need a sprocket change as the 8th gear is undergeared to accelerate enough.

By the way if you think your too unfit to ride this bike then your not.
This bike gets you there in the best way possible.
It accelerates quickly from a standstill (if only shortlived), it chugg's up any hill like a steamtrain, looks great and with the power off its rides like a normal bike.
Its brings all the pleasures of cycling to the wary and puts long range cycling into the hands of the masses.
Im hooked and already a self made promoter.

Some will ask was it worth the 17 weeks wait.
The answer is NO.
The last time I waited so long for something was the birth of my Daughter.
But for those who are still waiting, you have no idea how good the bike will be.

Hope this helps anyone.
Regards Bob

like a normal bike ?..is there any drag at all from the motor or will it free wheel totally undragged..?

p.s. i think 17 weeks was worth it for you as i dont think you would have such high comments about any other bike you might have bought in your annoyed state................you would only have kicked yourself for being impatient...patience is a virtue...
really please you are happy with your bike.
keith...
p.s. what does it mean "patience is a virtue"..im useing my poker "bluff mode" that its gonna be good..

Put it this way keith, it rides better without the power than my old folder.
As it re-state it wasnt worth the wait.
If the people concerned would have been more clear with their information, then I would have ordered one when the website said "in stock" or ordered one next year.

Good to hear from you again Keith.
Done my ration of nights.
5days off now.
Yipeeeee.

i wont argue with you as we all have our views and thats how it should be, you never exactly answered the question....doe it have ANY DRAG ?.... bit like me saying that Flecc's Quando on its own has less drag them him pulling his trailer with it..yet we know the Quando rides without power like its pulling a bag of cement....sorry to sound pedantic but i would like to know..lol

as for

"Done my ration of nights.
5days off now."

didnt you have your days off when you was on nights ?..

im guessing you mean you have 5 days and nights free to ride your bike every day...just think in 5 days time you could be in London..:)

i think for sure if i come into some money...lots so i can spend £1500 on a bike and not feel im wasteing money...then if there is no change in the e-bike market i will go for a pro connect as looks real good, light and excellant reports, will mod it differently to most on here as we have NO hills..:) ..
have you got a speedo ?..how many miles have you covered ?..how far can you go on power alone ?..and how far pedelec, i realise hills or no hills will have a bearing on this but as there are so many pro connect riders out there then lots of reports should be possible...so get riding and start the list....
happy riding..:)
