Pro-Connect update !!!

Well it sometimes pays to cut out the middlemen and get the truth from the horses mouth does'nt it.
I emailed Derby Cycles last week to find out what is happening regarding the Pro-Connect and its late delivery, but no return im afraid.
Then when I check my email this morning I found I had recieved a email from them asking if I could phone them.
I contacted Derby cycles in Germany and talked to a nice chap who spoke great english and before I started speaking to him he said "Oh yes its Mr ****** isn't it".
He told me he was very concerned that I may cancel my bike and he wanted to apologize first for the delay of the Pro-Connect and the size I ordered it in (53cm).
He explained the reasons for the delay of the Panasonic bikes were the steer demand for the Electric bikes themselves this year, with petrol prices increasing and being greener and all that stuff.
He told me Panasonic cannot make the motors and parts quick enough and that was the only reason for this delay.
He did assure me that the Pro-connects are in full production already, but they are just waiting for the motors too be fitted then off on the trucks to their suppliers.
And he assured me that I will get my Pro-Connect in 2 weeks.

Here's the important part.
He did not understand why the UK suppier has told its customers about deliveries before April 28th, as this was the only date of production planned and NOT before that date.
He also told me that all the suppliers can contact Derby cycles at any time to discuss any expected delays to its customers.

He told me I could phone him if my Pro-Connect did not arrive within 2 weeks and he would investigate why this hasnt happened.
He seems a very nice chap, open honest and friendly.

Hope this is good news for us all.
Revisit in 2 weeks guys if not before.
I will say nothing else on this matter.
Hanky tied tightly across mouth you see!

I spoke to someone at 50cycles this afternoon who said that at the moment, the only size they have in the gent's frame are the small.

According to him, the Large gent's frames are being manufactured today and should be delivered next week. When I told him about the rumours on here about the bike not being available until August, he said that sometimes people on here seem to know more about their delivery times than they do, and that it's best to get info "straight from the horse's mouth". I didn't think quick enough to say that sometimes getting hold of the horse isn't that easy; in particular, the horse doesn't seem very good at emails. I guess it's hard to type with hooves.

Now there's an option I hadn't considered. I wonder if there is a "horse to work" scheme. Could I get a tax-free hay allowance?

Clever things horses.

There's a council road sign near me that states:

Motorists, Horses, Cyclists, Pedestrians, beware of slippery road surface.

Until I read that I hadn't realised that horses could read.

Stop horsing around you two, before I get into a hoof.

Oh and the last 13 weeks has been like flogging a dead horse.
Sorry I'll pull the hanky back over my mouth !

oooooooooo...................

hhhhhhmmmmmm........

Will wait and see I suppose. I contacted 50Cycles by phone today to find out the situation of my CycleScheme voucher. They were unable to find it.

They said it was because they were porcessing yet another delivery of the smaller pro connects. They will ring me back.

They seemed to think they had already processed the voucher. Which could mean that I can't transfer it to another shop. There is a corner I did not want to be in.

Burncycles news is certainly re-assuring. Hope it happens cos my feet is getting itchy. I will contact Cyclescheme to formulate my plan B just in case. No point in waiting around.

I've always wanted a horse..

I'll only really pee myself when i go down and see it and the thing works.
