Blame the MSN that spread trump's propaganda and disinformation. The biggest is elon musk's $44 billions x.
It's only you that watches/listens to the MSM.

Anyway, you might have been right, but when they killed the squirrel, it was all over for them.

I use the word MSN to mean all modern media. The whole spectrum from can, msnbc to foxnews, x, newsmax, oan.
The biggest and most dangerous is X.
It takes two generations to build the tolerant world, climate aware, that we live in. Trump and his tribe of extremists are going to reverse all that.

"Donald Trump has said he would dramatically increase trade tariffs, especially on China, if he became the next US president.

Ahmet Kaya, principal economist for the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (Niesr), also said the UK could be "one of the countries most affected" under such plans.

It estimates that economic growth in the UK would slow to 0.4% in 2025, down from a forecast of 1.2%. "

"Minutes before Harris mounted the stage, a statement from Senator Bernie Sanders began pinging onto attendees’ phones. It was a stinging rebuke of everything she was about to say. It read: “It should come as no surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them… While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right,” he said. “Will the big money interests and well-paid consultants who control the Democratic Party learn any real lessons from this disastrous campaign?… Probably not.”"

I share some of his views, the party has largely gone for the more educated middle classes and abandoned those lower classes without further education.
However, Harris fought a good campaign, raised tons of money, won a debate and scared Trump to debate her again. The attack on her economics was built on impossible to deliver promises. How will Trump lower the cost of grocery? How Trump will deport tens of millions of immigrants? It's not as if the USA has enough prison cells to hold them and while they are picked up, who is going to do their work?
The election of Trump is like the brexit referendum. even the winning margin (52/48). It is built on things that are easy to promise, like reducing immigration but practically impossible to deliver, inside or outside the European Conventions on Human Rights.
Trump should be in prison for some of the racist and mysogynistic things he said. Instead, he is going to make sure that all of the justice system is his property and the judges will do as he says.
I am pretty sure that the American people will find out soon enough which one of the two, Biden or Trump, they are going to miss at the next election.

The main point is that
"what can be, is unburdened by what has been." (Kamala)
which anybody can recognise as being derived from Karl Max's idea to move forward into a future unburdened by what has been.
"Men make their own history, but they do not make it as they please; they do not make it under self-selected circumstances, but under circumstances existing already, given and transmitted from the past. The tradition of all dead generations weighs like a nightmare on the brains of the living. And just as they seem to be occupied with revolutionizing themselves and things, creating something that did not exist before, precisely in such epochs of revolutionary crisis they anxiously conjure up the spirits of the past to their service, borrowing from them names, battle slogans, and costumes in order to present this new scene in world history in time-honored disguise and borrowed language" (Karl marx)

It's dead simple.

An out of touch political party tried to foist a senile dotard onto the population, boasting about what a wonderful candidate he was.

When he started just about dribbling and talking meaningless, disconnected nonsense in a TV debate, they agonised for weeks about dropping him and finally did so, and then they shoved in the unattractive candidate who happened to be VP.

Harris had never been terribly charismatic and was all tarred up with the failures of the previous dotard POTUS.

Meanwhile - aforementioned dotard POTUS announced that Republican voters were scum.

Maybe the Democrat Party will take this catastrophe as an opportunity to do some root and branch pruning of all the self serving fools who have embedded themselves like tapeworms into the power structure of that party and clear them all out and start again.

ANY half decent candidate with a sensible programme appealing to ordinary people could have trampled Trump into the ground. He has OBVIOUS cognitive problems and is manifestly a narcissistic, sociopathic moron. Anyone who talks about himself in the glowing way Trump does is gratingly horrible.

Uncontrolled by those around him, he is unstable and dangerous on all kinds of levels.

The comments about the structure of the Democratic Party also apply to the Republicans. The candidates both parties are putting before the people are really dreadful.

Hilary Clinton won the democrats primary in 2016, Joe Biden in 2020 and again in the early stages in 2024. However, Joe Biden pulled out before the delegates vote. Harris won that vote at the democrats convention.
