Hilary Clinton won the democrats primary in 2016, Joe Biden in 2020 and again in the early stages in 2024. However, Joe Biden pulled out before the delegates vote. Harris won that vote at the democrats convention.
But she was an awful choice. It's a bit like the way the Conservative membership committed suicide when choosing Liz Truss... I was agog at that choice wondering how anyone could have chosen such a terrible candidate - but not just one or two chose her - thousands of them did. I REALLY doubted the Conservatives could ever recover from such an act of self harm, but thank goodness, they picked Badenoch .

there was no vote she was installed and bindoo binned now both are in the bin :p
I can post a video if you like.
Harris to announce her candidature after Biden resigned his presomptive nominee status. Anyone in the democratic party could announce their candidature in the same way.
The winning candiate is then selected by the 5000+ delegates at the convention (last 19-August). Harris and Walz were elected unopposed at the convention.

I don't think so. She was the best choice under the circumstance.
She may not have done herself a favour choosing Tim Walz as her running mate though.
Josh Shapiro would have been a better choice, or even Pete Buttigieg. Buttigieg impresses me whenever he appeared on Fox News.

If you ever managed to write more than a single snide sentence, people might be able to argue with you. As it is.....

Exactly, there were no other candidates, hence no *real* vote comrade, da?
(Edit: just my spelling)
(Edit edit: Wikipedia seems to have primary voting results, mm)
Why would Redacted make a silly claim that could be so easily refuted? Double tut? So both sides are clowns. As I originally thought, ha. :)

If that were true, it would be a terrible statement about America.

Of course it isn't true. I could not be. I have often thought since the time of George Bush the lesser, that there must be ten thousand better men (or women) in every large American city than the people the parties manage to put up.

The only recent half decent candidates were Bill Clinton and Obama. The rest have been alsoran time servers laden with money of their own. Clinton had his ethical issues relating to his philandering past and even a rape allegation, but nobody thought he was stupid, and when he presented himself to a crowd, there was no doubt they were all ready to hear him.

What is needed, both by Republicans and Democrats are clever, thoughtful men or women who can lead, and have clear policies that will address the concerns of the American People - people of all sides. I don't care whether Americans vote for Republicans or Democrats, as long as they elect (or get the opportunity to elect) people of real quality. 'Clever' on its own wont do. The candidate has to be a person who can command the respect and loyalty of the mass of the population. Harris had no chance of doing that. That left the raving narcissist who spends about half the time he is speaking telling everyone how great he is and how great everyone else thinks he is. He is a truly disgusting fellow who I suspect will be the first ever president to pardon his own crimes.

"Many of the car company CEOs I talk to have said that they can deliver on the targets," Hoekstra said, *without naming specific companies*.
So they probably didn't, seeing as countries are asking ICE ban be "put back", I.e. cancelled?
So what does he drive?
Is that 5-series BMW electric? No, hybrid maybe? Hehe
(Doesn't look like a 'leccy i5, 2024)
Did he pay for it with the virgin islands money? Snouts in the trough, as always. :)

By that time, Biden has already endorsed Harris.
A few (like Newsom) did consider to run but didn't at the end. They could see the scale of the challenge ahead. The selection is just as real as those wanted to run against Trump: Ramaswamy, Tim Scott, Ron de Santis etc. At the end, only Nikki Hayley was in the running, even then, only for a very short time. Primaries become predictable in very short time.
I think you see a plot where it's just the way the processes work.

he said (as reported in the article you linked to) that in hindsight, he should have paid more attention to the company’s financial set-up. ‘I wasn’t an active investor and I didn’t read the annual reports,’ He also said that he sold the investment before becoming finance minister and donated the profit of that investment to charities.
I take it that you invest on stock market too? If everyone who invests on stock markets must know where each company in their portfolio is domiciled, nobody will have time for any other work. I myself bin most of the reports I am sent without even opening them.

And a guy in UK got 3 years for holding a sign and shouting at the police, which subsequently led to his death.

yes, I think he can.
Those on the right of Trump will want to break the biggest institution: the state welfare.
They think welfare make the people of the USA weak.

When in fact all it really fuels is crime.

Certainly a lesson to be learned there.
