Where did Trump succeed while Harris failed?
Trump succeeded by winning.

I explained all this to you about two months ago..... See below:

Harris won't win. She won't win for all the reasons I already posted:

- whatever her achievements, she is unappealing to the average voter

- people are disgusted at the way the Democratic Party pretended that the dementia patient was a great choice for POTUS for the next four years when he can already rapidly descend into idiocy at any moment, and has done repeatedly now on live TV. The ordinary man or woman is no fool usually, and they know what they saw. They saw Democrat leaders LYING about his mental condition.

It is Woosh who thinks Harris is great and a sure winner - not me.

I still despise Trump, but he will win.

Trump's assassination attempt is no longer in the news. That should worry him a lot. When the spotlight turns over to the Democrats, discussions about policies will become much more important than personality, where Harris will be more at ease.
The november election will boil down to just 7 swing states, that hasn't changed. Biden would lose those, Harris can only improve democrates chances because Harris would turn a lot of those women's, blacks' and asians' votes for trump or at least, cause them not to vote.
What republican voters refuse to accept is socialism is not bad for the stock market.
Watch the polls and the stock market.

You still don't engage with reality. SHE DOES NOT APPEAL TO ORDINARY VOTERS. However much you want her to beat Trump - she won't. She is unappealing.

She is not popular. It may be that she is clever and competent, but if people outside the inner folds of the Democrat Party don't warm to her, she will never get the mass of the American population to vote for her in the numbers required to win. It isn't the 'true believer Democrats' you need to convince, it is the mass of the population at large.

Too many politicians the world over forget this. It is why Labour lost so badly in 2019. outside of the party fold, and outside London, ordinary people up and down the country could not stomach Corbyn.

Sunac is another example - quite apart from the fact that he had a huge uphill task because of the previous incompetence of Boris ans Truss (a massive task) the fact that Sunac is clever and thoughtful, and came originally from an ordinary middle class family, were nowhere near enough to cut it. People just didn't like him enough. He did not look like a man you would follow across nomans land. You MUST have a candidate with big appeal, not just brains and policies, if you want to win. Harris has no appeal and will not win.

I despise Trump for reasons I have often expressed, but I think he will inevitably win.

Donald Trump has won — and American democracy is now in grave danger

American democracy, and democracy in general, have been in grave danger for some time. The problem started the moment that large numbers of people started to turn to random, unchecked, blogs, postings and tiktoks as a means of getting news and opinions. When every uneducated idiot in the world can publish their ravings, and present them as facts, and have large numbers of people believe them - THAT was when the death knell of democracy sounded. Trump's win is just a result of that, not the cause - and he WILL act in an undemocratic way ,and to the disadvantage of democracies the world over. He has already said he would. You heard it from his own foul mouth.

Never forget that in 1933, Hitler was elected by the German People and was appointed Chancellor by von Hindenburg - the President of Germany. He didn't just arrive riding on a tank to seize power. He won the vote, and walked into office to applause and acclaim.

you were indeed more right than me.
That is a gracious response and I wish you had been right and that I had been wrong.

What next?

Pretty soon, Trump will force Zelenski to make terms with Putin, who will with some relief end the current phase of teh war. The Russians will use the peace to rebuild their forces and rearm. Then they will launch other attacks on other nations around them.

Agreed.

No, that second sentence is a complete misunderstanding of the Russian position, the US propanda view.

Georgian history since 2004 shows the very different truth.

US is a Constitutional Republic, as is Ireland. While the UK is a Constitutional Monarchy. Neither are a Democracy in the true sense, though both ascribe to 'one man, one vote, representative plutocracy?
Switzerland appears to be considered the most democratic Constitutionally governed country?

We had a 'democratic Referendum' recently, and the Gov lost 25% to the people 75%. So I don't think they'll be holding any of those again soon. Or maybe the 'crats just make us vote again, until they get the result they want like in 2002 & 2008.
Yay!, we will have an 'election' "v.soon", said the Teaboy recently ;)

Poly = many, so many!
Tics = blood sucking parasites
Shun = how they should be treated? :)

"seals are infrequent visitors to Loch Ness, especially at this time of year"

The Loch Ness Monster - or three frolicking seals?

Seals live in the sea. The only seals in fresh water are fed by humans in zoos and theme parks. Loch ness is a lake!.

Now now. Let's not let mere facts spoil a perfectly serviceable hoax.

Let's get one thing straight. The Loch Ness monster doesn't exist. How do I know? Simple, When the aliens landed in my garden, I overheard them discussing it with the fairies, and they said it was themselves that started the hoax. I wanted to hear more, but Bigfoot came along and scared them all away.

Last spring, did you go to the weirs to watch the annual seal leap? Some of the seals struggle to make the 2 metre leap up the weir, so have to go back to the sea and deal with the salt.
