Hi

Thanks for your super-fast reply :)

I do have a standard phone cable - which I plug into the USB female part of the adaptor I just send in the above link - which I then plug into the Bosch Intuvia - it lights up the screen briefly - but no charging is happening.

Yes it's an otg adapter. That's probably why it doesn't work. It's made to access flash drives etc. What type of fitting is your phone?

Ahh right.... Typical blonde moment

My phone is a micro USB. Really could do with something from Amazon Prime as going away in a few days - do you know if they have anything? I've bought two adaptors so far with no luck :( I'm confused what I need now....

That makes sense about the charging part.... Tempting, but I'm scared to get it wrong a third time! I'm a little apprehensive to buy the Bosch one as looks like the flattest part of the micro usb is on the bottom (as if the angle would be wrong meaning it would point away from the bike. Is the one in your pics the Bosch one?)

Thanks for explaining it because it did baffle me. I've ordered the Bosch one (should have just done that in the first place!)

When I bought mine the otg was somewhat unknown and I think the reason they are now all otg is probably because normally you wouldn't use this cable to plug into a charger.
Incedentaly I don't charge my phone from the bike, I use the outlet to power the gopro and run my phone from small power bank. . £5. Ish from aldi

Before you buy consider this..
As I see it there are two types of camera..
1/ those fitted in cars that switch on and record when the engine is started, and re- record over and over on a permanent loop, so its fit and forget until you need it .. I have one and it works well!
2/ The type we might use on a bicycle, but are really action cameras that need more input to avoid a full Memory card and generally dont run for too long on their internal battery.

I find the gopro a bit of a headache because it records till its full and then stops! It can loop record, but only in set segments (30mins, 1 hour etc) so every time you turn it off, and then on again it creates a new loop so quite soon the card is full and you have to delete the files to continue.

As we are electric I have been looking for a fit and forget camera, possibly designed for motorcycles that will start recording when I turn on the bike, and stop when I turn it off, and have found this one which will continuously loop record and turn on and of when power is applied.. The camera is small and waterproof, and the electronic bits can be fitted elsewhere (frame bag etc).
I am not recommending this, its just something I have been looking at

If you want to helmet mount.. a gopro is a big lump stuck on your helmet if your head should hit the road. COL ( Like LOL but crying!)

Unfortunately that's another gadget I've already bought (I purchased the Garmin Virb for £74.99 as it's such a good price). But I really like the look of that one (which you recommended). Note to self: Ask on here before buying any more electric bike related items!

Last night I had the fun of trying to find a bottle cage and a saddle bag. The Topeak Mondopack Hydro Saddle Bag seemed perfect - but turned out it won't fit on the saddle of my Cube (Reaction HPA Race 29) - yet ANOTHER purchase fail! So I bought a Cube saddle bag and a handle bar bottle mount (which will not doubt drive me mad). Surprised the e-bike designers haven't added some sort of alternative bottle mount option on the frame somewhere... I guess they don't want to encourage anything with liquid in hanging over the battery :/
