...i threw away $1500 buying a front wheel hub system from Clean Republic...i bought the Hilltopper model........they were one of the worst companies i've ever had the displeasure of working with anywhere, anytime.....their products are made from the cheapest , worst materials that you can imangine then you'll be lucky to get any customer support, they lied to and cheated me....since this terrible expierence i have purchased a new front wheel system that works fantastic.....

Hi Mary,

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience.

What did you buy to replace the bad one?

OP was last seen four minutes after the time stamp on her only post on Monday.

If she comes back I will eat my cycling cap.

really i can care less what you think about me, however my my purchase of this worthless system (battery)is valid.........by the way Clean Republic has a store in North Dakota and i'm from Minnesota, is that good enough for you??.....do you have some type of connection with this company and thats your reason to defend??..........Clean Republic used a battery that had known defects and they replaced it a year or 2 ago, but they failed to honor their warranty and their customer service was is bad as it gets, this is IMO and you can do what ever you like with the info.......I did get a new excellent battery from a company in Ca. and paid $500 for it...........I'm on the road and traveling right now but can get the info when i return home if you wish......

the only reason i joined this forum was to inform you of my terrible expierence......thats all, no other agenda here,,,,what are you insinuating?? that i work for another e-bike company................i only ride a bike 3 times a year and they are at BIG antique swap meets and i ride all day for 3 days straight....for this reason i decided to try my first front hub e-bike.....i used it for 3 times and my battery completely died....i tried working with Clean republic(yes, in N.D.) and they would do nothing for me except sell me another improved battery for approx. $400-$500.........i really don't like wasting time defending myself however i kind of understand your concerns.......You can do what ever you'd like with this information......I have zero agenda except to educate cycleists of my expierence and i thought this maybe the forum to do it..............Like i said, i can get the info of this new battery i bought, however i cant remeber the name of the company, but i do have it at home.............

Thank you for the clarification Mary and for sharing your bad experience;)

I'm not sure why some people assumed you were not genuine, what would be a point of wasting your time posting:confused:

As you are probably aware, most of the Pedelec Forum members are based in the UK so it might be better to post a thread on Endless Sphere which was a big audience in North America.

Sorry you had such a bad experiance Mary. Though you can see why some people wondered. If someone joins a forum just to launch an attack on a company or product it can seem a bit fishy.

I do twenty odd miles most days but if someone suggested a three day ride I would go and hide. How do you do it? The thought of it makes my legs tremble.

My sincere apologies Mary for doubting the authenticity of your thread.
I am just waiting for RobF to pass me details of the most delicious cycling cap for me to eat too

BTW, welcome to the forum, will you still be my friend?

Just for a bit of balance, I have dealt with Clean Republic in the past, and they were very good. The kit they supplied was basic, but it's still running 3 years on. 8fun 24v front hub, and I've been running both the hub and original controller (also 24v) at 36v. It's been hauling my wife & 6 y.o. boy to school and back for a while now.
