I have bridged the red to blue as it says for the throttle but it doesn't do anything I have 5volt on the red going to the blue when linked. Could you look at the drawing and just clarify that it is the red, black and blue for theottleView attachment 62513
OK, more progress. When you touch those wires is there any click or tick from the motor?

One more thing: you can only bridge them after switching on, not before.

For a three wire speed switch (aka throttle) one needs to connect the wires in the correct sequence so show us what you have. Typically a thumb speed switch is Red /Blk & White, Red & Blk will mate to the same colours on the controllers connector and the White to the Blue. White & Blue are the signal wires.

I haven't got a throttle.

Not sure what's happened but I heard a pop and the screen has gone off and isn't working. Can anyone recommend not a expensive controller and display which will work with my bike please.

One has wasted £80 0n Brainpower set up , £80 which would have goty one a far superior KT controller and KT lcd.

Sorry you blew it up. You were trying to jump the throttle connector red-to-white to make the motor turn? In my opinion, you can't test the throttle that way, white has to be a little lower in voltage than red to make it work.

Anyway, that should not have damaged anything. You didn't grab the 36 volt red from the display connector did you?

Before you throw it all away, check those heavy red/black leads from the battery to see if they still have 36V where they go into the controller. Then check the red wire on the display connector to see if the 36V still comes out of the controller.

This kit uses a master switch, as shown in the schematic and also the other picture ? Sure it didn't get turned off.

Not sure matey but it won't turn on or anything.
In that case, you need to go back to my test list and start at the beginning. It'll probably fail on point 1, in which case you'll be looking for a blown fuse in the battery. The LCD control panel works independently from everything else, and its connected direct to the battery in an indirect way. It is possible to damage it, but I've never see one damaged in the way that stopped it from lighting up. All it needs is battery voltage to light up, which means it isn't getting battery voltage. That should be simple to fix.

You can test a throttle like that, and even if you short anything there, it won't do any damage unless you leave the 5v shorted to ground for quite a long time. If he shorted anything to make a pop, it has to be a battery voltage wire, which is nothing to do with the throttle.

I only used the red to the blue and the red to the white because it's a little confusing. My old crank sensor was red blue and black and my new one is red white black. I will do the tests tonight as Harry says if there all OK I'll go back to the start and go through all the checks from what Saneagle says. I have ordered another one which should be coming today if all else fails.

Again thank you very much.

I say again, you cannot cause anything to pop by connecting the red to the blue. You had already done it, and it didn't pop, so you did something else.

It's very difficult to help if you don't explain what you did. The only way to make something pop is with wires that carry battery voltage. According to the instruction you posted for your controller, the only wires that carry battery voltage are the red to the LCD and both the violet and red in the key switch. Did you try connecting one of those reds to the throttle because the throttle red didn't work?

He had 5v on the hall wires, so the controller was switched on.

No I didn't touch the LCD plug and definitely didn't touch the key plug.

Got my new controller and LCD and I have brought a throttle with this one so hopefully that might make things a little better. Is there anything I should do or shouldn't do before I message at what stage I'm at. (Apart from don't blow this one up) do i have to change anything in the settings etc etc
