Thanks. Ehomer.
I replaced the ku65 to sine wave controller in this afternoon and u must say I am impressed.

First, it is definitely quieter than ku65. I feel slightly smoothly to use the throttle. I feel the same using PAS.

Same to my KU65. Top speed is 20mph without load and 18mph with load. I am restricted to 15mph now using the handy LCD panel. Also I can also check the speed on it as well with the speed sensor installed.

Recommend for everyone if u like your motor a bit quieter :)

The only downside is it needs hall connections

Did it work with the cycle computer sensor?
Yes I used the supplied speed sensor and the speed shows on the LCD panel. The sensor is at the second pic.

I haven't tried the ALDI cycle computer sensor to connect the controller not sure that will work.

Yes, my one worked with an old cateye sensor that I had in my spares box, connected without the red power wire, as you suggested.

Here's a photo of the temporary connections with miniature screw connectors while testing.

I then soldered and sleeved the thin wires then shrink wrapped them.

Ah ok :)

Speed limit is actually 15.5mph + a 10% allowance - so actually 17mph in effect ;-)

I still remember naively saying on here that my DIY bike was "fully UK legal", just before chapter and verse was explained to me !

So, what the hell... :)

Just got back from a second test run.

Still very pleased, 21 miles at an average of 13.6mph on assist mode 3.

The 10ah 36v Lithium Ion battery had just dropped one segment on the battery level display, which was about the same consumption as the original controller.

The bike has an Sram 7 speed hub gear, and I can leave it in 5 or 6 all the time, with nice easy pedalling.

At last, an electric bike performing to my original expectations about 5 years ago, (when I was sadly disappointed by what I tried out then).
