I read some of the specs, but some said "not suitable for hall effect motors". which I think mine is.



Here's a couple of photos of my 250w motor, I don't know what make and model it is, but I believe it is a Hall effect, judging by the number of connections ?

I'm not sure why they say that because it's the controller that decides whether you need halls or not, not the motor. Your motor is a Bafang SWXB. I think that it'll be OK. Just leave the hall connector disconnected.

The S06S "250W Torque Simulation Sine Wave Controller" looks like an exact same physical size regulator to the one in the bike at the moment, so would fit the neatest, inside the casing in the rack/battery carrier.

Sorry to keep picking your brains on this, but would I be right in assuming that is a proper "sine wave" controller, and may make my motor quieter ? It seems very reasonable at just $24.00 in the 36v version.

Also, the wording "Torque Simulation" sounds like it will match my pedalling effort better from the crank sensor, have I understood that right ?

On the BMS website, in the checkout column headed "delivery", does that refer to days or weeks ?

I think that you have to have a panel too, which increases the cost. It is a sinewave controller, so should make your motor smoother and quieter. From experience, delivery time is about 2 weeks from order. I can't wait for a review on the torque simulation . I think I'd prefer the old normal speed control because you know what's happening, but I keep an open mind.

If anyone can compare effect on motor of a sine wave controller vs a normal one when overvolting a motor I'd been very keen to hear about it

By which I mean , for example, running a 36v controller at 44v

I wonder if the smoother/quieter effects are retained ?

Every time I think I've understood things and come to a decision, I find I was wrong !

The SO65 at £23 was very attractive, but the 36V250W Sine Wave Controller with KM5S LCD Meter at £57 is a higher stakes gamble.

I hadn't anticipated that the S065 might need extra parts to fit in with my current setup.

I think I'll await Pat's review before I decide. (Thank you for the feedback).

Got the sine wave controller and it is smaller that ku75. I need time to compare it with ku65. Will keep everyone update.

Hi Has the sine wave controller the 5 thin wires for the hall sensors if you have a plug with red black green yellow blue then it is a sensor controller

BUT don't mean that the yellow blue and green are matching on the hall sensor or the main motor cables


also have you the right connections on the throttle red to red black to black and the other colors don't have to mach

As far as Iknow the sine-wave controllers only work with a control panel. Which panel do you have, if any?

I also thought that they're all sensorless.

My controller is what I believe is the simplest, just on/off and three level options.



So would I need to go for the more expensive regulator and controller panel, rather than the cheapo S06S regulator ?

Hi It says on BMS

2. It fits all S series LCD and LED meters.

3. For 250Watts hall sensor motors.

So you wont be able to turn it on without Display

I just looked at the info on the BMSBattery web-site. It says that it's for a hall-sensor motor, so does not run sensorless. You said that your motor has lots of connections. did you connect them all, and, if so, do all the colours match on each side of the connectors. If there's any doubt, show a photo of what you have.

Hi Dave,

I am using the LCD panel and I followed the download document for each connector. I connect all connectors apart from the hall connection. I am able to turn on the display but the throttle does not work. I will try to post photos later on.

No only three pins connector. My SWXH on Dahon Jack does have the hall connection but I dont think I can try it today. (too much to do on Sunday)
