A quick look at the latest KTM Bosch powered 29er here in Swindon on Saturday, revealed the stem mounted consul is larger than it appears in the link above. It was also much easier to operate the buttons with gloved hands than the original HMI.
The original HMI had three 'Power levels' which could be selected within any of the four cadence related 'MODES'. This was an overly complicated system which even the self professed Bosch 'experts' had not the foggiest idea how to use to best advantage.
The new HMI, with remote switching which is easy to use with the thickest of gloves is so much simpler. The three power levels have now been dropped, with just four Modes which can be selected on-the-hoof.
For various reasons I did not have the opportunity to ride the machine but, another forum member did. I'll have to try and 'borrow' the machine somewhen to see how the new assistance characteristics pan out on the road.
