Thanks Dave - I can confirm we will be a Haibike dealer in the UK as of 2013. We will be able to carry out warranty work on Haibike's sold through us. As for the previous sales, its a shame you haven't been looked after by a previous dealer. This upsets me.I had a chat with the export director of Haibike (also Hercules and Winora) at Eurobike show,he told me that all the range would be distributed through the Raleigh dealers. So in theory you should be able to buy any of the Accell bikes through any Raleigh dealer but I suspect that only a few will decide to take up the e-bikes. Petersfield Cycles seem to be one of the first to be pro active sellers and should have Raleigh and Haibike models available for test at our Redbridge Test an e-bike day,April 7.
I hope the setup succeeds the Haibike I thought a good strong bike.

Blew it - I can confirm Raleigh will be the UK distributor for the brand, and from working with them previously I'm sure they will do a great job of representing the brand and offering good back up and support. At the end of the day, its the dealers on the front line so we as dealers will have to also represent ourselves well. This is good news for the Haibike brand in many ways. As far as I can make out, the existing Raleigh Ebike UK management team will remain intact. I particularly hope that Lloyd Clarkson continues in his role as product manager. I've had the pleasure of meeting Lloyd several times over the last three years, including assisting him with leading group rides around Swindon.
The introduction of the Haibike brand into Britain came at a time when the manufacturing capacity simply could not satisfy demand in its home market, let alone the additional requirements of other countries. I always knew my own Haibike would be a long time coming, but this was never an issue as I have other machines which I could use. Needless to say, it was worth the expected wait, but finally taking ownership of a very beautiful machine was, due to the absence of communication, the worst retail experience of my entire life.
The Haibike brand deserves better representation in Britain, and I'm sure it will get it under the Raleigh umbrella.
I agree with most of what you say but a good bike shop will know their brands well including how to repair faults. Also we pick up bikes which develop faults at no extra cost and offer a loan bike at no cost if the bike is required for work. As I said the major advantage for people like yourselves is on cost. Also if problems develop the buck would stop with us as well as we have sold the product. I think the key thing is people have choice and there are some good models out there where direct sellors enable people to try models in their local area. I think we are lucky to have great forum like this as it ensures both dealers and direct sellers provide excellent service and products. My preference for a dealer network is personal and there are no doubt many people who would prefer the other model.I agree with a lot of what you say Electrifying Cycles, but direct sellers like Woosh, Powerpedals, Cyclezee et al provide somethings a dealer network can't, we know our product, better value for money due to cutting out the middleman and no intermediaries to deal with, the buck stops with us and can't be passed, therefore if there is an issue as in the main topic of this thread, it has to be dealt with quickly to a satisfactory and amicable conclusion or a reputation can be destroyed overnight.
This Forum and the internet in general is a powerful means of keeping everyone in this trade on it's toes, big and small.
Hello Eddie, even though its a shame Lloyd is no longer representing Raleigh, he has moved on and is happy with his decision, his move also free's up his time to pursue other interests and hobbies he has. Lloyd is a good guy and I respect his decision.Lloyd gone.......that is not good! I hope he has moved onto bigger and better things......
