This one? Put a motor on your Carerra 1 (or have someone put a kit on it), lovely bike for a conversion.

yaaay... feeling excited.... electrify both existing bikes n maybe a gtech tooooooo lol, well why not..... at my age life is very short.. too short not to enjoy....Viking Vienna would require battery on the rear rack but why not.
Aluminium frame = mid motor for me.
A lot of long words there for the newbies like myself that have just come on to get some sound advice on buying this bike....u ought to try and converse in a way that's easy to translate to non heavy bike users then you may convey a good critique...other than that i'm passingThose battery indicators are normally a long way out, in an optimistic way because they measure voltage. Voltage drop/capacity is not linear on any battery, but with lithium batteries the non linearity is even worse.
I can't find the battery capacity on the web page (which is full of BS) and I note that they continue to insist that's it's an 'electronic bike', which it is not.
Also, 'Aircraft grade aluminum' I suspect is another piece of marketing nonsense. I'd guess it's 6061 or 7075 aluminum alloy. (Don't know for sure as website fails to elaborate).
Another way to put this would be: It's made out if the same stuff that the vast majority of bikes are made of, and have been since the turn of the century.
While I'm sure it's a good choice for some, for me the deliberate obfuscation of fundamental specifications is a big turn off.
However, I'm guessing I'm not the intended demographic.
most ebike owners are 60+??? where did you get those stats from???most specialist e-bike retailers need to make £400+ on a bike to keep their head above water. To run a shop with typically 4 staff members, you need to clear £150k net a year. From £1,000, you take out the VAT, (£166.33), at 25% margin, you would have to sell 720 Gtechs a year to stay in business. It's a noticeable percentage of the UK market for e-bikes, about 25,000 to 35,000 e-bikes a year. That's why bikes under £1000 can only be retailed by large surfaces or mail order.
Personally, I can't see Gtech continue to make e-bikes. One reason: too small turnover for them and secondly, the Gtech fits a tiny percentage of the market, most e-bike customers are 60+, they need more assistance and comfort.
I am one of them, and the majority of membership on this forum.most ebike owners are 60+??? where did you get those stats from???
you could always try this ....http://www.amazon.com/Where-Do-Go-Get-Life/dp/0880707321Mancxander.
You say 'Get a life'
As I have used most of mine up, can you tell me where to get one?
Jeez....i only came on here to get a review of the GTech bike...and what do i get???? A whole bitch fest between dealers and dictionary swallowers!!!! Not all on here have been obnoxious, but reading all these posts is like reading a FB argument. I really appreciate the good points raised by some of you, but as for the rest, get a life! All i wanted to know was is the bike worth a go...i didnt want to see "over the fence pushing your chest to the side" gossip!! Ada and Cissy have nothing on you lot! Shame on you! You're keeping your little clique a definite gentlemens only!
That ad got me thinking about eBikes. Before seeing it I'd never considered one.I was half-watching the TV a few nights ago. Did I see an advert for the G-Tech bike? Anybody else seen it?
The price of the bike is now down to £995, which includes some useful extras.
Why, oh, why don't they do a 10Ah version? They must be nuts!
£299 for a spare 5.6Ah battery is too much. That makes it pro rata a lot more expensive than a Bosch one. I reckon that they make more profit on it than the bike. I think £180 would be more realistic.
Assuming I didn't dream the advert, I reckon a lot of uninformed people will buy these bikes. Maybe afterwards, they'll understand the limitations, so they'll go on to buy a different bike, or maybe they'll show it to their neighbour, who might go and get his from a local ebike shop. Love it or hate it, I think that it'll do a lot for the Ebike industry if they keep up the mass-marketing.
I also hadn't thought of buying an eBike until I saw the emails and videos promoting the Gtech. Before making any big purchase I like to to do some research which led me to this very helpful forum and I've since bought a better bike than the Gtech for the same price. That ad got me thinking about eBikes. I've since bought 2 much better eBikes after realizing that the Gtech wouldn't have cut the mustard.
So thanks Gtech and sorry for not buying your bikes!!
