Looks fantastic, a proper e-bike but quite clearly far too dangerous for a human to use on daily basis.
but its OK for the human to drive around in 2 ton cars?lol

I love this bike and the video did it for me.....but its heavy and @ 500 watt illegal.......but who would notice unless speeding, you open something like this up your going to stand out like a sore thumb:p

I was being sarcastic, I'd have one. Just use it sensibly and nobody would notice.

Top bike, made by a proper bike company.

I see from the English language website you can choose ordinary (UK legal), a climber or one for speed.

Plenty of other options, too.

I've not really had a dream bike - until now.

The Mountain 25 model is 250W limited to 25km/h.

This link should work, but it's under the technology:motors tab on the site:

Ah, so not UK legal at all then.............. ;)

(I'm not going to restart the legality debate, but will point out 250W and 25km/h isn't UK legal, as discussed at length recently)

Doh! in that case ill have a 2000 watt electric motorbike....Yawn.

The Grace Easy looks similar and at 19 kg more nimble. not sure if it runs 48 v (BioniX) or 36 or the size of battery. like the Stromer a low key e bike, and very nice looking.

video: the first bike is Grace 1 (verwy naughty!:p) The easy on later........

Yawn is right.

Jeremy can post what he likes, but I think it's a pity he continues to mislead people when a 250w/25km/h bike is, for all practical purposes, legal.

Anyway, back to dreaming about my thoroughly illegally fast Stromer, in white, with a suspension fork, mudguards, rack and lights.

Oh, and I may as well have one of those clever parallelogram suspension seat posts as well.

If you want to mislead people reading this forum by telling them that something is legal when it isn't, then that's up to you.

Personally I think it is important that people should understand that they are going to break the law if they believe that "250W" and "25km/h" is the UK definition for an electric bike, when the reality is that the law is very clear, the true limit is 200W and 15mph.

The Stromer does look like a neat bit of design, but AFAICS even the 250W model doesn't seem to be approved for use in the EU, so not even the current "blind eye" that's being turned in the UK to EU approved 250W ebikes would apply to this bike. I think that this needs to be made clear to anyone who wants to buy one (and TBH, I'd quite like one myself).

FWIW, I've made my views clear several times, I frankly don't care about the power limit at all from my own perspective, but I do care about people being mislead into possibly breaking the law because they've been given duff information.

At the risk of going slightly OT, do you think that the Thudbuster is worth the price? I've been tempted, but having experienced the "pogo-stick" ride from a straight suspension seat post I've been a bit wary of lashing out for a Thudbuster.

I do my homework reasonably carefully and it seemed the best option for our use as ride was so firm on the 20inch wheeled AVE MH7 even with big apples something had to be done... went for the thudbuster ST not the long reach LT which is more for off road, and plays havoc with your knees apparently. it transformed the bike to be honest.

I went for the standard 27.2 that way can move to other bikes. needed a 34.9 shim for AVE and had to get that from the states as gave up looking in Europe. I'm in London welcome to try if unsure...

Thanks for that, I'll see if I can save up some pennies. I'm in a similar situation, having moved from a full suspension 20" wheel folder (with fat tyres) to the rigid frame Swift, with relatively narrow tyres. The way the roads have broken up around here over the last few weeks I need something!
