Yawn is right.
Jeremy can post what he likes, but I think it's a pity he continues to mislead people when a 250w/25km/h bike is, for all practical purposes, legal.
Anyway, back to dreaming about my thoroughly illegally fast Stromer, in white, with a suspension fork, mudguards, rack and lights.
Oh, and I may as well have one of those clever parallelogram suspension seat posts as well.
If you want to mislead people reading this forum by telling them that something is legal when it isn't, then that's up to you.
Personally I think it is important that people should understand that they are going to break the law if they believe that "250W" and "25km/h" is the UK definition for an electric bike, when the reality is that the law is very clear, the true limit is 200W and 15mph.
The Stromer does look like a neat bit of design, but AFAICS even the 250W model doesn't seem to be approved for use in the EU, so not even the current "blind eye" that's being turned in the UK to EU approved 250W ebikes would apply to this bike. I think that this needs to be made clear to anyone who wants to buy one (and TBH, I'd quite like one myself).
FWIW, I've made my views clear several times, I frankly don't care about the power limit at all from my own perspective, but I do care about people being mislead into possibly breaking the law because they've been given duff information.
