The BBS02 250 and 350 W are identical. The controller is set at the factory to different A values. The 350 W also exists in a 48 V version which is a de-tuned 500 W version IIRC. The 500 W motor weighs about 500 g more so most likely contains more copper winding.

Now if you want to be confused... The BBS02 controller can be programmed to 18, 20 or 25 A which means you can have 250, 350 and 500 W versions of the same motor. Until recently there was one on the market, a 250 W stamped de-tuned BBS02 500 W motor.

Other than extra copper wire in the heavier 500 W motor they are identical and cost the same to manufacture. Price difference between a 250 W and 350 W motor are purely marketing differences - if it is more powerful it should cost more...

A BBS02 250 W reprogrammed to 25 Amps will be more prone to overheating if abused than the 500 W version at 25 A.

I think we're all getting a bit confused with this BBSO1/BBS02 business. As far as I see it, the latest motors are as follows:

BBS01 motor with 36v controller
BBS02 motor with choice of 36v or 48v controller
BBSHD with 48v controller

If, for example, a vendor quotes a 36v BBS02 as a 250w version, then it's just the same as a 500w version, electrically and mechanically, but detuned via software programming. The 48v version may have a slightly different stator winding to the 36v, but this is just to change the motors RPM to offset the different voltage. Probably to keep the cadence similar between the two voltages.

Apart from the 250w BBS01, all the others aren't technically legal anyway, so why not just plump for either a 36v 500w or 48v 750w BBS02 and program it just the way you like it.

Here is an example of a BBS02 500w kit, which is basically a 750w version detuned to 500w. The motor and controller is exactly the same in both units!

Maybe someone else can clarify this, but I don't think Bafang has rated them as 250w, it's just vendors detuning them and slapping a 250w sticker on them.

It's a kind of pull the wool over the law's eyes thing I guess.

As far as I know, the BBS01 is currently the only version that Bafang has rated as legally 250w, which could be backed up in the manufacturer's specs if the law were to dig about.

I personally have 2 orginal bbs02 250w with a 25 a controller orginally.There are some vendors selling them and the they are marked by Bafang just like the bbs01.Dont know why you say things like they are facts when you really dont have a clue

the BBS02B costs 8% more than the BBS01B. We reflect that difference in the selling price. For clarity, both are sourced directly from Bafang, same with spares, we don't reprogram the motors. The BBS02B motor core is slightly larger and heavier.
BBS01B: 3.8kgs
BBS02B: 4.2kgs

Do you have different bundled battery options with the bbs02b 500w Woosh?

the GSM is comparable to the BBS01B in terms of power. There is one version that I am fond of, the one that works with an external controller.
Currently is on very low stock level.

I am out of GSM with 18A internal controller, those equivalent to Bafang BBS01B. I'll get a new batch of BBS01B beginning of October, but no more GSM until next Feb.
I can only offer BBS02B and hub kits at the moment.
