Sounds to me like you have either a very unbalanced or worn/tired/knackered battery where one or more cells or a string of cells aren't holding as much charge as the others.

When other cell strings are full and charging stops that string isn't as full and pulling the whole pack down. That string will also reach LVC before the others and cut the BMS/battery power early too.

You'd need to open the pack and voltage test the cells/strings to see which cells/strings are low.

If the scooter is that new(ish), maybe the warranty is transferable. If that's the case the seller/dealer/manufacturer should test or replace the battery.

the thing is with these things is if you want high speed and amps from the batt it nukes the life of the batt esp if has been made with cheap cells so sounds like one cell bank has a fault and it should not even charge at all but they they use cheap bms and not a smart one.

you need to take the batt apart and remove the balance cable and check each cell bank of the pack but if one cell bank is dead do not plug it back in!!!!

but get in touch with the seller first as i bet they knew it was kaput.

these guys can custom make you a new batt in the uk and have warranty.

As this is a pedelec forum (clue is in the title) then best to ask on a uk forum for illegal e-scooters. Whether or not batteries are discusssed on here we try to have very little to do with illegal e scooters except to despise them and the twerps who use them endangering others.

Can I still ride it or is it not safe like it is now? Will the the battery break after some time?

You can still ride it, but it will continue to degrade until it’s dead. Then you will have to buy a new battery. Be careful on that thing.

As said previously, you probably have a few bad cells in your battery and it’s likely that a few more will go bad in due course. So you will get a reduction in range because your low voltage cut off will kick in and it will keep shutting you down. Eventually you will get fed up with it shutting down and you will have to buy a new battery, or get your current one tested and refurbished.

One thing that possibly can cause a battery to fail early when 'nearly new' is if the original owner forgets to recharge the battery after full use and the exhausted/flat battery is stored away for a long time before resale. The owner eventually might charge the battery immediately before selling and it might appear ok , but the damage may be done.

The battery sounds typical of an e scooter , ripe and ready to burn a house down.
