It's not payday until tomorrow, there will be nothing left.I called in at Lidl this morning to load up with treasure. I was there at 8 and there were 4 others waiting for the doors to open! All wanted the cycle gear.
Anyway, I managed to get everything that I wanted. It all seems pretty good at first sight.
I saw the pump and it is almost identical to the rubbish one that Wisper have stopped supplying, I wouldn't take it anywhere you need to rely on it.I bought a few things.
Mini pump £1:99, seems a pretty good design, not used it yet, for that price it's worth a chance.
Saddle bag +toolkit £5:85, this is a good deal, i only discovered what was in the kit when i got home. Screwdriver and allen key set in a pull out metal sleeve (not bad). 2 spanners (crap), chainlink extractor, never ever used one(seems fairly good and strong), puncture repair pads and glue.
Bike computer £3.90. Very disappointed when i was charged £14.88 for the bargain one i picked up and had to return for the cheaper version...bah! still not bad quality though.
Wanted to get a red jacket, but found the colour was more pink than red. Not for me i'm afraid.
Still worth a detour on the way home and loads of stuff still available in my local store.

I had a quick look and although they are a bit flimsy they look OK. The fixings look fine and just like the ones on the Wisper luggage, basic but effective.I bought the panniers which seem good quality, quite strong and large enough for all my needs. I like the idea of having two seperate ones which are easily removed......perhaps a little too easily removed?

Don't forget, there are other retailers selling cheap but good value cycle gearWith all this free publicity, I reckon Lidl should cough up for an advert in this forum.

I looked at the luggage but didn't like the sugar bag folding design for the top, I'd prefer a proper fold over and fasten top. It'd be interesting to know if they let rain in.I had a quick look and although they are a bit flimsy they look OK. I didn't look that closely, I thought it was a standard roll top fixing which tend to be very waterproof. Didn't see the point though as the thin fabric clearly wouldn't hold back much on it's own.I looked at the luggage but didn't like the sugar bag folding design for the top, I'd prefer a proper fold over and fasten top.
