Kirby e bike kit

Have you encountered any issues or challenges while installing or using the Kirby e-bike kit?

Currently very few ebikes have been challenged by the police a recent statistic revealed 260 e bikes were confiscated in a recent year, while it seems like ive passed that many dodgy e-bikes in the last 12 months alone..
However other considerations come into play when deciding what bike to ride on the roads.
Such as If moving faster than 15 mph unexpectedly will other road users be able to anticipate my movements correctly? Can my bike stop within a reasonable distance? What am i paying insurance for it would never pay out for a dodgy bike? do i like having a secure roof over my head? do i want to retain my driving license?
And all it takes is a change in the social winds for pressure to be applied to plod to start enforcing the regs..
And while the regs themselves are a mess the intent behind them is pretty clear and sensible..

Which kit are you talking about? They have several!
There will inevitably be a challenge of some sort, depending on which bike you fit it to. You need to give details of both. A decent picture of your bike would help a lot.

I can't understand why they only do front motors. They must be nuts.
The KT kit though front wheel drive is one of a few rare kits that use the nice current control.
The beauty of the KT current control is the wide range of currents settings used, two low power for range , one medium power, one med to high power and one high power.
Having KT future proofs the kit should the lcd or controller fail , one simply buys an off the shelf replacement from almost anywhere, ebay , Aliexpress or one of the various china online stores.

How do you know it is KT? They say only that it is a smart controller... or maybe I missed something?
They don't say anything about battery cells - probably cheap Chinese. It is huge. The ugliest battery I have seen.
I really don't care if I order from UK, France or Germany. KT kits are much cheaper than that.
One only has to look at the controller and lcd to see it is KT brand.
Shame though they only plump for the 6 mosfet controller. I think a 9 mosfet would be better not because it is 22a but because of the extra heat sink ability and larger design.
The only downside to the six mosfet desing is over heating if one climbs steep ascents too slowly.
