Lots of 'oilers' talk here. How about domestic central heating oil for cleaning/degreasing. I have found it pretty good. Nice and cheap if you can scrounge some off a neighbour :0)
Best wear gloves though and don't breathe it in too much

I use it for cleaning because where I live in the country with no gas supply it's the best stuff to use for central heating. It's actually 28 sec kerosene though, a less refined kind of paraffin. So for cleaning it's just the same as that. But a lot cheaper if you're filling a big tank.

Ref the chain bath, they are brilliant bits of kit. Everyone should own one.

So you have to completely remove the chain first huh? Or do you sort of drop it in while still on the bike and do it in sections?
