Yep, after many weeks of research and a thousand questions, mind changes and deliberation, I am finally going to order my ebike tomorrow. Phew !
I'm going for the Pro-Connect with the 2 year pickup and return for the FULL peace of mind. Im ordering a 53cm frame, as advised. I'm gonna pick it up from the Loughborough branch and give it a test ride first when it arrives. (I've been told mid-March).

This is why I picked the Pro-Connect after looking at most other ebikes.

1. Fleccs Agattu review (same bike really).
2. Its a bike I can grow with as I get fitter.
3. 2 year warrenty (including the battery)
4. Its a simple bike regarding wheel issues. No front wheel motor to deal with if I get punctures.
5. Its quite a stealthy bike for an ebike (doesnt say please steal me).
6. Waterproofness.
7. Quality build.
8. I loved the Agattu when I rode it.
9. Small battery compared to the others.

I hope my hard work helps others to have to do less than me !

I'll need that time to get my BMI down a bit and get my legs a bit fitter so im in a better position to start cycling to work ASAP.
I'm on nights for the next 2 weeks, so I wont need any sedatives !

On the frame size, the pro-connect has a sloping frame, I would recommend a 49cm. The 53cm I recommended in another post was for a normal frame.

burncycle you will probably be right re frame size if you have guaged it from the agattu but when i was looking at buying a dutch bicycle on 28" wheels last year i was advised to go down a frame size. i did test ride the dutch bicycle in question and the advice was right, over the phone i would have gone for a 53cm but the test ride 49cm was plenty big enough.

This is one question I have not fully resolved.
I've had lots of different answers !
Basically im 5foot 11inches and I have a 32inch inside leg.

I emailed Evans and they said I needed a 19inch frame though 50cycles and flacc say a 53cm frame is ideal ???

Frame sizes of continental bikes with spring seatposts can be difficult to recommend, but I was judging from my experience with a 53 cm and an inside leg 3.5" less, where I could only just cope by fitting a rigid seatpost. With the sprung seatpost taking up two inches of your extra inside leg measure, 1.5" will be spare for your preferences.

Therfore I still think you'll probably be ok with the 53 cm, but much depends on how much you like to have your foot down at rest. I'm happy just with toes down, but others prefer to have a flat foot on the ground.

Evans are playing safe for safety reasons, foot flat on the ground capability, sensible from a dealer point of view, given people can sue in the event of an accident.

Personally I'd rather have the bike a bit bigger than a little small really.

I've phoned and ordered my Pro-Connect from 50cycles in a 53cm Frame.
Thanks for all your help on the forum and especially Flecc for his knowledge about ebikes to assist me in making the right decision.

Dont forget if the bike is a little too big there is no adjustment,apart from changing the saddle,if it is a little too small you can always higher the saddle.

Not a clue on the Trekking, sizes on the eZee bikes are like most e-bikes, not given and assumed to be "one size fits all".

Since I was able to just ride the 53 cm Agattu with a 28.5" inside leg with the sprung seatpost changed to gain 2 inches, you should have no bother with your 3.5" longer 32 inside leg using the sprung seatpost, since that still allows you 1.5" extra over me.

But I was hoping that my wife, who is 5'2", could use it too with a ridgid seat post.

I could only just about manage at 5' 6" on the 53 cm with a fixed seatpost, so I'm sure that would be far too large for your wife.

You would definitely be ok on the 49 cm with saddle raised a bit Erik, since is is a "large" feeling bike, but I doubt that your wife would manage with the sprung seatpost in place. If you changed to a rigid long seatpost it could then be ok, but it does depend on your wife's leg length of course.

Hi Flecc,
Remember this old post thread from February, when I'd booked my Pro-Connect.
13 weeks later and you were right about needing the sedatives.
Talked to 50cycles again today and it look like another 3 weeks wait on the whole. 50cycles were their usual un-compassionate self.
The people they must have kept waiting this year!
All I can say is what a waste of the time the last 13weeks have been.
I know I said to you I passified myself by setting a deliver date for mid June.
It looks like 50cycles are going to exceed that time now.

Just let this be a warning to all potential customers of the Kalkhoff range.
The promo should be............................

"Like waiting? then order a Kalkhoff".

I was only recommending enough sedatives to get you to April though, since that was the original indication. I should have checked which year though.

At least you're unlikely to miss having from Sunday on for a week or so, judging by the forecast, so hopefully the sun will be back as the bike finally arrives.
