Is there a case for a Power Key for E Bikes

It would seem that casual bike theft happens a lot and as bikes are particularly mobile a thief can soon outrun a bikes owner who is on foot and giving chase. E-bikes are even more susceptible as the power gives them a big advantage over a pursuer and I have heard several stories where a bike was left for only a few seconds when someone just simply rode it away in full view of the owner.
If on the other hand an e-Bike needed a simple key to make it work a thief would be stuck in treacle and wouldn't be able to ride very far at any speed so in some cases could be caught....
Just a thought..

It is called a "frame lock" and becomes second nature to turn the key and remove it even when leaving the bike for seconds and in view. Can't be ridden away, can be picked up and carried away.

Many do have, for example the Ezee e-bikes have keys that need to be inserted and turned to "on" for power. The same key turned to a different position releases the battery for removal.

In some bikes it does!.
My RI Motus has a key which 1. Operates a simple lock immobile in the back wheel and 2 electrically locks the battery in situ and disconnects the electric power. Same key two functions . The visual display unit can also be removed by a clip and this further disables the motor. It is important to protect these items as the display unit is the price of a supermarket bike and the battery the price of a poor ebike !
