...the box could be made pretty darn tall, capable of carrying very heavy cargo. I recall you found the weight limit of your Carry Freedom Large Y trailer some months ago, while too many carying compost bags, but can't remember at what point your CF's axles worried you.
One reason why opted to repalce the bed with longer one to carry boxes in tandem, too tall and trailer stability was potentially an issue ov r uneven terrain or even pot holes.

1m sides would be too high, if fully loaded with heavy weight all the way to the brim. This box could be as wide as the platform, depending on how cargo was distributed, the center of gravity could be lower. 2X 43cm high 25kg water bottles doesn't make the Homcom feel too unbalanced, but then there are 22 X 2.26kg plastic milk bottles filled with water with a low center of gravity, around them. I'm a trailer newbie, you've got more experience - about 60cm? That could allow space at the top for light items like duvets for the newly homeless etc, should one feel generous toward those poor souls who can't afford their mortgages, rent, energy bills or food this winter. Or sleeping bags and loaves of bread topping off stacks of bake bean tins, camping stove, gas bottles etc. for bike trailer camping holidays in Bulgaria. Or compressible padding to keep honey jars from bumbling about in transit, or something.
