or you could get three of these, which would be 18aH 36V for £180 and they only weigh less than 3kg. That would be a good battery:Hmmmm... I wonder what the C rating of the batteries are

I concur, could be a turn for the worst....Indicator lights on a push bike...a solution looking for a problem maybe?
I take it all back .. survived through some REALLY bad driving in rush hour and new roadworks a few days ago in darkness, with all manner of dangerous stunts going on. Got well annoyed and decided to pull over and give these a try. They attach pretty much where your wrist joins the base of your hand using velcro straps (instructions are hopeless but once you work them out they're actually straightforward to use) meaning they pretty much sit on the back of your hand "near as".Have to confess to impulse-buying a pair of these in one of those "carried away with a haggle" moments at the NEC ... impossibly short velcro straps (unless you're in a Lycra top - and I have small wrists !), have to be mounted the right way up or they don't work ... and one of those things you look at in your rack bag and think ... really ?????? !!!!!!

These look interesting ... They could run off a 12V circuit serving the charger socket I guess ? ... and wire into a combi-switch. HmmmmJust remembered about these. We used to use them on our old classic motorbikes. I've still got a pair somewhere mixed up with the junque in my shed. They can be seen from the front and the back. You have to drill a hole in your handlebars to let the wire out and you need a 12v supply and a flasher unit. You can get a small 12v lithium battery and flasher from Ebay or use three untrafire cells:
BOM/INDICATOR CUSTOM BULLSEYE WITH CLEAR LENS KIT 22MM | eBay
Bullseye Custom Indicators - 22mm bars | eBay
New 3 Pin Relay Fix LED Flasher Unit LED Bulbs Blinker | eBay
DC 12V 6800mAh Super Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery +AC Charger for Bike Lamp | eBay
They're in the rack bag, unfortunately, despite on several occasions being underway and wondering why I forgot to put them on ...Hi 103Alex1
How are you getting on with the Indic8or? Do you still use them or are they back in the bottom of the bag?
Bill
John did you get yours off eBay? Like these:i bought same ones 4 years ago[ no good ] turn signal switch to small,to use in traffic had to fix brake light switch on brake wire constantly then brake light did not work just rear light .
Not really bright enough in daylight, although you can change the LEDs for brighter ones. The brake light's not bad though, and you can use it to work your brake cut-off too - handy if you have that type that are integrated with the gear levers,John did you get yours off eBay? Like these:
This looks ok but I dunno if the LED's would be bright enough in daylight? Might need to change em for some super bright ones perhaps and run off bikes battery. I also don't like the idea of running even more wire across the frame and handlebar space lost for the switch. Might have a shot at doing a Bluetooth switch..
I saw some £5 touch-screen remote control watches on eBay, they're InfraRed so no use for changing lights..then I saw some cheap WiFi 2.4Ghz 2-button fobs for opening garage doors etc and you can get a little relay circuit that goes with it, both together about £6 = wireless indicators... but then I spotted the ultimate prize..a Bluetooth Android watch for £16...now there's a thought ;-)Not really bright enough in daylight, although you can change the LEDs for brighter ones. Now you tell me .The brake light's not bad though, and you can use it to work your brake cut-off too - handy if you have that type that are integrated with the gear levers
Wonder if it works with Speedict ... could remove the straps and mount it in a control box if it ran apps in place of a phone. Only need the Bluetooth and app functionality in order to run Speedict anyway and saves having to be at the mercy of taking your phone, having to have a working SIM in it or relying on your phone to control your bike (really uneasy with this if I'm completely honest - I know it rocks some peoples' boat but it nigh on capsizes mine lol). Watch face would be discreet, wouldn't need charging all the time (or would it ?) and would just need to be put somewhere weatherproof ...but then I spotted the ultimate prize..a Bluetooth Android watch for £16...now there's a thought ;-)
Thanks 103Alec1. I'll take you up on that, if i may. I will PM my address. I'll also let the forum know what I think of them. They're in the rack bag, unfortunately, despite on several occasions being underway and wondering why I forgot to put them on ...
With all the winter clobber and superfluous stuff I end up carrying about "just in case" (shell rain jacket etc.) they never seem to be "to hand". By the time I finally get out of the house, checked the door locked 3 times, alarm on, gates opened etc etc I'm usually running late and barely remember my keys and phone let alone putting the Indic8ors on . They'd be far better in the hands of someone more organized
Be happy to post them to you to try out if you like Bill. Have to face it, I'm never going to change with putting on stuff like this (a helmet is bad enough and don't bother most of the time). So they won't get used much in my hands .
The brake switch only works on cable brakes. Now you tell me .
.
No problem - I'll try to get them off in the post to you tomorrow. Thanks 103Alex1. I'll take you up on that, if i may. I will PM my address. I'll also let the forum know what I think of them.
Cheers
Bill
Aha - makes sense actually when I think about it ! Sorting office run tomorrow to collect on the pile of cards - hopefully they'll have your package with the connectors and throttleThe brake switch only works on cable brakes.
