Hi Alex

Thanks. Received Indic8tors OK. So far work fine standing in front of living room fire waving arms up and down. They can't touch you for it.

Will try in earnest next week and report back.

Tried to PM you but your mailbox is full.

Cheers

Bill
Well it's taken me a bit longer than expected to write a review. To recap 103Alex1 sent me a pair of Indic8tors (Home | Indic8or) to try.
Briefly, they work. Raise arm and LED flashes, drop arm LED stops. Vehicles coming from behind definately respond to this, giving me more space. I don't think traffic coming towards me can see the LEDs.
I have used these for my daily commute and they are very worthwhile in dark, wet, foggy conditions.
On the down side, the velcro straps are far too short, particularly used on top of winter gloves and coats. I replaced them with elastic bands. There is also a bit of a knack to getting the LEDs to switch on/off when needed. Sometimes found that LEDs didn't switch on with a sharp jerk of the arm.

On the whole a useful safety item for winter. I don't think I will bother should spring ever come.

So thanks Alex. If you PM your address I will send you a donation to whatever unlikey project you are currently working on.

PS Just read your post about your accident. sorry to hear that. Get well soon.

Bill

Glad you got some positive use from them, Bill. Good idea about the elastic bands. I felt the same about the velcro straps and e-mailed them asking if they did any with longer ones, but just got a reply that they felt they were fine for most people and so "no".... odd as my wrist circumference is smaller than most !

They're effective things and definitely counter "tailing" by vehicles from behind when you're wanting to turn or cutting you up when you're trying to cross lanes, just would benefit from a few simple design tweaks that could make them so much more appealing and functional "straight out of the packet".

It's wrist rotation from flat on handlebars to vertical on (textbook) signalling that triggers the LEDs to come on rather than raising the arm per se - it foxed me quite a bit at first what actually did it. You don't even need to raise your arm, just rotate your wrist and off they go, flashing away :).
