You wont think samurai swords are ridiculous come the zombie armageddon.
My good friend Douglas Brooks had a very good comment about the zombie apocalypse: "Looking around at all these people walking about nose glued to their smartphone, oblivious to the world around them, I just realised the zombie apocalypse is here and now!"

Wow...you come on here to gain knowledge and chat to like minded bikers and it's like the pub vault at midnight on a Saturday...I'm glad the OP has found his perfect bike, not all of us can afford to chuck wads of cash at what is a hobby for most....and did you call my pint a puff:D

You are all so clever but not so bright. I have had messages to say what a funny lot you are. You can shove your opinions where the sun don't shine!

Sorry for the idiots Nigel enjoy your bike.
It would have been one I would have been interested in before going bent.

After years of having various electric cycles and testing many more I now have the perfect one. I have owned an Giant Lafree and a Twist a load of rubbish in-between (tornado eco and a Kursar and a powerbyke) I then owned a good bike a Smarta from the Cambridge electric bike shop which was great value but not perfect. I tested a Haibike which was ok. I then ordered my next bike which turned out to be perfect for me......and it is......A Kalkhoff Tasman 8. It has 8 hub gears lights that stay on at junctions, impulse 2 with torque sensor, hydraulic brakes, great computer with handle bar controls, mudguards, rack, adjustable seat and handlebar height and telescopic forks and seat post. Bought in 2016 as a 2015 model. £1499. Just thought I would tell you! Have done a few hundred miles and enjoyed each one.
I like the look of this bike. Any updates or, more of a living review, Nigel?

How about an update. I done 9,545 miles before the motor gave in. I thought that was ok but have to admit I expected more. Was I right or not, I don't know. comments please from the original critics? I know ride a giant explore, lovely bike but new motor at 2,400 miles (Yamaha) Now done over 5,000 miles (on 2 motors)

giant use the yamaha motors but they use there own controllers batts and displays and screw customers out of warranty with well over priced replacements and as giant use can bus you are locked in to there motors and controllers only as you can get the uart Yamaha controllers but not compatible with the giant motors.

all these new bikes with all this smart crap are dropping like fly's atm just because you pay 10k for it does not mean it wont be a pile of crap.
