Everything is ok, gears still crash and clank because it's a Yamaha, throttle works and regen braking still charging battery.

Lucky escape there!

Must clean bike, reminder in phone

Leigh the surgical glove, lube and two fingers is not a video for Youtube.

rust and bike gears dont mix well even with lube you need to remove the rust from the chain or buy a new one.

I opened up the shed and I could have cried.

Look at what my negligence has done!

Just off to oil and then take for a gentle conciliatory ride

You should think your self lucky. :) The following corrosion is an example of what begins to set in after leaving the bike for a couple of hours of riding in my neck of the woods.

About a week ago, d8veh was suggesting to gubbins that putting a bike away dirty is fine. When I read the comment, I remember thinking wtf. It is by no means fine to put a bike away dirty, and dirt also masks potential mechanical issues.

The comical thing about seeing your bike though, is that only about a week ago, d8veh was suggesting to gubbins that putting a bike away dirty is fine. When I read the comment, I remember thinking wtf.

Actually the comment was in response to the question which is worst.. putting away dirty or clean but wet into a garage where it won't dry.

even if you use the pink muck off stuff to clean the bike you have to wash it all off and dry it out as if any of it is left in a hard to get place it will eat away at the paint work and damage it.

Going to fetch leaf blower...

Now have reason for keeping the bike AND the battery in the house.

It must now become a sewing/bike room, can't see the problem, sauce for the Goose and all that.

Totally agree.

I was emboldened with scotch last night, there is as much chance of getting the bike in the house as the dog sleeping outside!
The dog gets the middle of the bed. Apparently I hog the edge of the bed!(
(translation cling on for some comfort)
