Nothing special tonight went out for 37.5 miler on the Boardman along the Worth-Forest Way trail mainly to see how the XML-T6 zoom light performed, only taking one 18650 they only last an hour or so before the light quality reduces. At home I checked the two I changed and they were at 3.5v's the only down side is stopping to change the batt over. Day time riding the route is a chore but night riding it is a lot better was quite surprised how spattered the bike and I got though.

The light is more of a small torch but comes with a handle bar mount and lanyard, the mount can swivel through 360 degrees in the horizontal plain and is very bright about 2000 lumens on max. The zoom is good as it allows a more direct focal tight beam if you need it, on about half zoom you get quite a nice compact spread of light giving a good field if vision. One guy I came a cross really peed me off as he had a rear white light that was blinding me as I got closer and took me a while to adjust my eyes after I passed him. As I entered E.G on the small climb 2 guys on pedal fat bikes approached me them wide tyres made more noise then my e bike.

Great vid and photos as always Eddie [emoji106]

I managed to get out today, just as it rained and got cloudy, and then when I got home it was lovely sunshine [emoji35]

I decide to get lost today, which I did! Although the A3 was my reference point...

Hi.
I'm interested in getting a iPhone holder and came across your photo. I like that flip top style, could you let me know who makes that?

Cheers
Paul

I've already gone over the reason for riding sportives on at least two separate occasions.

As for you riding one, it isn't going to happen. Reason being that it would mean having to take your bike off road. ;)
Posting up someone else's off road Strava stats, and videos of just riding on public roads and public pavements, isn't the same as riding off road. pmsl.

Try one before slating them. I can assure you that even with your dongle, that you won't beat the lads and lasses that move out in the first group. You might leave them for a while, but they will embarrass you once your energy and battery begin to fail. :)

Hi Paul, it's from Ultimate Addons, it s a ram mount case but it's used for my motorbike normally. I've now got a Topeak set up...

Hi greggster.
Many thanks for your time in putting up those pics. I will look into both.

Much appreciated

SRS, I was half thinking about doing the Wiggle ride this coming Saturday, and glanced at the video from 2014, and it appears that there is a glimpse of use both at roughly the 1.02 point. I seem to recall the guy with the camera in the water.

Eddie, yes that would be us.
Good day but if recall we missed the pink route sign that is very clearly shown in the video.
Can't make a Saturday ride myself but look forward to catching up on a future event with you.

I see you've swapped to flat pedals so must be muddy up your way. I'm keeping with the clipless for as long as possible as its not been too bad down here.

Cheers Ian

Thanks Ian, I decided last night not to bother with Saturday. The expected entry was 600 people, and I couldn't face that amount of mud.

Ref the pedals, I swapped out about two months ago, when the knee was at it's worst. I hate the things, and only last night I was thinking of fitting the clipless set up back on again.
A lot of the riding around here, consists of deep and narrow gullies, and the poxy things are always getting in the way. The Shimano shoes also aren't that great with them either.

Blowing a bit here and tipping down again was planning on going out with the GSM mtb tomorrow am but not now definitely will be a quagmire everywhere esp the downs which was my planned destination. May well take the Boardman out again and do another disused railway line ride but this time join the Downs Link south of Horsham and head to Cranleigh, other option was to head south to Shoreham but to chilly to go wading this time of year. My Oxy battery arrived late afternoon so now charged and have 24ah at my disposal now.
I have just got some very slim flats for spd from Bike - Discount haven't yet tried them but should catch less when riding the gullies /narrow tracks.

Certainly not very inspiring out there is it. :(

I really hate riding the railway lines. I can get to the Groombridge section in about ten minutes, but it is as dull as dish water. As you said before, they are better at night time.
I rode one from Heathfield to Polegate a few weeks ago for the first time. A motorway of people, and also both the bike and myself were covered in dog crap by the end of it. I won't be doing that one again.

All very quiet, no one been out?
Not much riding, except for commuting and some errands. It really is the worst of the fall right now, raining all the time and the trails are all mud and water.

Where's the winter? I've got these ones waiting:

And I've been spending way too much time on the internet looking at full suspension push bikes...

I saw no dog doo on the 20 mile section I rode today, the Heathfield ( Cuckoo trial) must be popular with dog walkers without poo bags.
