Yes V1 is the venerable one I have but you can at least fit an inner granny chainring to it using cut down standard M8 screws. The first gear/bearing combo you come to on dismantling does seem prone (in V1) to failure (on full power if the pedal gets obstructed in my case) but is easily got from Javy at CATIC China (for a considerable fee). The one-way sprag bearing (trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about) is obtainable here - it's the surrounding helical gear ring that's tricky. hech knows about dismantling the more complex versions.
Yes the 25A was a mistake as I thought I'd only taken it to 20A when I tested it indoors and I didn't act to de-tin it a bit when 25As showed on the Wattmeter. Died as I was starting out presumably at max torque/Amps. Ordered 2 KU63s from BMS Batt. to tinker with so prob be crying for help again soon....
