WTF is a v3 converter when its at home then?
G’day hech,

On the website for Aseako bikes in Australia, there is this statement:
“All 2013 Aseako ebikes have the new third generation reducers fitted to the central drive system”.

Models | ASEAKO Electric Bike

So I’m guessing that the reduction gear system in the mid-drive unit has been through a bit of evolution and is now on its third iteration.

(This ‘Third Gen’ statement first appeared for the 2012 models in Aus, which is when I bought mine).

Perhaps Geebee could confirm if this is what he is referring to

Cheers

Yeah hech recovering somewhat thanks - doing the odd ride.
I want sloooow as it's like a walk in the country - I don't care about A or B it's the bit in between I like (so to speak).
So when is this epic trip up Ben Nevis you promised? Just Celtic bravado methinks... I suppose you're still in training with those muscle-building Scotch pies! - (equine flavour?).
Yes V1 is the venerable one I have but you can at least fit an inner granny chainring to it using cut down standard M8 screws. The first gear/bearing combo you come to on dismantling does seem prone (in V1) to failure (on full power if the pedal gets obstructed in my case) but is easily got from Javy at CATIC China (for a considerable fee). The one-way sprag bearing (trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about) is obtainable here - it's the surrounding helical gear ring that's tricky. hech knows about dismantling the more complex versions.
Yes the 25A was a mistake as I thought I'd only taken it to 20A when I tested it indoors and I didn't act to de-tin it a bit when 25As showed on the Wattmeter. Died as I was starting out presumably at max torque/Amps. Ordered 2 KU63s from BMS Batt. to tinker with so prob be crying for help again soon....
