Homemade battery - idea for a bag

I’m just in the process of finally building my battery, and the reason it has taken me so long as I was struggling to find somewhere on my bike to mount the battery. I found this bag on eBay for about a tenner,
and decided it would be big enough for a 10s4p battery pack. Here’s my layout

and here’s the batteries glued together

and in the bag,

and the bag mounted on my bike.

There’s still room for shrink wrap, wires, and a BMS. So far all up weight is 2.07kg (4lb 9oz in old money)
My plan is to melt a hole in the bottom for my power out wires, and my charging plug will be kept inside the zipped compartment. I’m also trying to find a way to fasten it to the seatpost with something more rugged than just the Velcro.
I should be welding my battery right now, but the nickel strip I bought isn’t 100% nickel, so have ordered some from a more reputable dealer. I hope this gives someone an idea for a discrete battery pack.

By the way, this is the eBay ad I got mine from. I made an offer of £10 and it was accepted.
As you can see, a bottle can be stored on the back as well, I suppose you could mount the controller in a bottle for a totally stealthy look.

Looks good. You have enough seat post showing to fit the bag. I’m looking for something that sticks out horizontally from the back of the seat as my frame size procludes having more than about 6” of seatpost showing.

Probably need a frog battery,
yosepower or elifeshop do several ready made batteries on eBay for decent price.

Nice idea, I had a similar idea with a large Topeak Mondopack saddle bag but found I could not not have the seat high enough to fit it. I like this bag though, could you post some photos with a tape measure along it to show real life sizes. I don't trust the sizes in the ads.
Some 2" wide velcro round the whole thing should be more rugged and help it stay secure.

Nice find. A piece of ply or aluminum in the bag and couple of half couplers would do the job

Yeah, was having similar thoughts. Was thinking of bonding a piece of ply onto the battery and screwing another piece through the back of the bag. Then some kind of u-bolts or something to fasten around seat stem. Sounds a bit long winded, but should look ok once done. I’ll put some pics on just as soon as my nickel strip comes and I get the battery welded.
