We use muc off sealent, wonder what the contents are in that. I wouldn't be happy for the DT Swiss wheels to face that type of corrosion.
Good luck Soundwave x

i would double check as if it even has traces of ammonia in it it will eat bear metal.

the rims i have are 23mm so a bit on the skinny size these days but finding a wheel set to fit is a pita!

thats about it budget wise and bang goes the 2080ti:(
The mavic deemax are a nice rim a mate has them and has had no issues to date ,
Also you can have custom build rims with crc which I have done in the past ,
there wheel builders are good and I never had so much as a spoke come loose in the 7yrs I had them and they were used properly
Worth a play with the wheel builder on the site

none as there is only one hole for the valve, it has got behind the valve and in to the cavity and eaten it away from the inside.

you should have 2 year warranty on the wheels but id not have that crap in my rims seeing the damage it can do.

the only thing i have never touched on my bike is the valves and looked whats happens.

and cb uk service center just sent this.
Hi

A crash repair service isn’t something which we offer on the Crank Brothers wheel range.

We would be more than happy to take a look at the wheel set and look into swapping the rim over for you but as it is outside of warranty it would be a chargeable repair.

Once we have the wheels here and have inspected which parts need replacing we can then look into getting it repaired.

For any more details let us know and we will be happy to help.

Kind regards

so it looks like it wont be cost effective to have the rims replaced as it will cost way more than there worth.

and as there is no crash repair cb wheels are now not a option.

I've been using stans seal for near 8 years now on three different bikes and no issue. I think this is just bad luck :(. Saying that, on rare occasions i'll strip the tyre off, check tape etc. I always use stans rim tape and double over valve area, taking time when putting tape on to ensure no air bubbles.

i never had rim tape and never really cleaned them out and just added more sealant when needed.

it took 4 years to cause the damage but it did not say to use rim tape with the rims i have as only 1 hole for the valve.

the mavics are the same but ill tape the valve hole just in case.

i can get a rim for £115 +pp+ £40 to build them up but it will cost more than there worth!.

Hi

Even with a sealed rim, we still suggest using tape on all rims to protect it. A small chip in the rim anodizing or paint exposing bare metal will cause corrosion with any liquid. Unfortunately there isn't anything I can do here as it isn't our rim.

Please reach out to Crank Brothers regarding this warranty.

Thanks,

Yodel  :(, when it comes to home delivery they are SHE-ITE. They don't give a monkeys f**k about the parcel value or contents, just bung emby the door or close and sign the pda themselves with a scribble.
