Attached is the colour combination of the Ten cell groups for this Carrera battery.

As of this morning I have the battery charged to 36.7 V charging directly to the terminal s that come up from the cells to the BMS.

I have no voltage across the Two terminals that the charge and discharge ports are connected too , but I have lights at the on and off power button.

once I have 40 V across the battery I am thinking about connecting it back together with control er on the bike and taking feeds back to the the input and discharge port terminals to see if this will kick start the BMS and clear the fault.

ANY REASON’S THAT I SHOULD NOT TRY THIS WOULD BE HELPFUL ?

If it does not work then any help changing the BMS to work the battery on an after market kit would be appreciated.

The battery is now at 40 V charging directly and the YOSE charger has gone from red to green

Sorry 36 v
Damm just as I thought it was charging as it came up to fully charge I heard a small crack sound and now one cell group has gone down .
Black RS white Red LS yellow is now 0 volts

Sounds like a cell group has shorted out and so disappeared from the total voltage.

Unless there is an obvious explanation, I would disconnect it and treat it as dangerous scrap. If it is indoors, I'd take it outside.

Thanks Mathew it’s dismantled and nothing connected BSM and all the connecting wires
and outside.

when I go to see the battery man I have found I will see if the rest of the cells can be salvaged.

It my own fault I was being greedy trying to fully charge it and not looking that the voltage on the shorted out cell group was out of balance to high to the rest 4.5V all the others 3.5V.

so when the charger went green this group was to high and shorted out.

I am gutted all my hard work down the pan especially as I am sure a new BMS would have finished the job.

Anyway a lesson learned.

Thanks again for your help

You've learnt a lot and not burnt the house down! And remember the cells may well be severely substandard from years of sitting flat, so not necessarily much lost.

Hi All

Ok so not giving up on this job just yet.

I have checked the rest of the other I cell groups so far they are holding a charge at 3.5 odd volts all of them.

I have dismantled most of the battery being careful not to short any thing .

I have managed to remove the 3 cells from the battery body leaving the rest secure and still connected by the nickel plate..

I had to slowly and carefully cut away the plastic housing to free the 3 defunct cells .

I will post some pictures in the morning .

My first job once I buy new cells is how to solder them back in place with a very basic soldering iron Once stuck back in and a repair made to the housing.

And then find a suitable replacement BMS , YOSE will not sell the Joycube one . And I want the battery to work with a KT set up.

Was in a battery fire recently. Ist and 2nd degree burns to my hand and foot. Spent 8 days in hospital. On the mend now -thanks to our brilliant NHS....That said, should you be involved in a Lithium battery fire incident,...Get the FOOK AWAY ASAP!....That is what the Fire Brigade told me..Their current policy far as Lithium related fires are concerned is containment.
My doing! Was faffing around with a pack comprising 2700 cells trying to separate them for a project I had in mind -power pack for my 24V soldering iron . Accidentally punctured a cell....And KaBOOM!

You need a welder and some nickel strip. You can get the welders fairly cheap from Ebay, Aliexpress and Amazon. Search for 18650 welder:
Cheap Battery Spot Welder 18650, Yes its awesome!

Don't bother trying to solder the cells as the solder joint will fail due to stress or vibration in time and also one will cause severe heating to the cells trying to solder.
One reason why spot welding is used, quick and instant with minimal heat transfer.

Thanks guys I have been watching some u tube videos, if I can not sort out the replacment BMS , then I will probally salvag the rest of the cells .

I have just started working on a bird bike I think it’s an under warranty return .
same thing will not charge .

I have got it all powered up by connecting my frog battery into the discharged port but keeping the battery on the bike too so it communicates with the controller , had some fun today trying to work out how’s it’s built.

I think the battery is knackared so not sure weather to sell the bits off now I know they work as they seem hard to find .

Then if any cells are salvaged from that and are compatible with the carrera ones I may have a go at building a battery once I have studied a bit more .

You shouldn't mix battery cells from one battery to another, when you don't know how worn out they are, and definitely don't mix cells with different designations.

Ok noted
I do not need to I got the Bird bike battery back up to 100% and charging , going in the back way .

woke it up after checking the charging port ECT was all working .
strange it had 11V at the front and 0.11 at the discharge but the correct charger just showed green at first .

I was getting ready to strip it and see if I could sell the parts on e bay

Had the idear after picking up a Carrera that had a Halfords modified Charger that basicly does the same thing.

I thought my new Bird was knackard she just came back to life .

Nice bike !

Road test it tomorrow.

I found those Panasonic cells online a company called Nickon has stock same cells and numbers.

It's the LCD - same as any other bike. What do you need to know?

Panasonic (aka Panny) PF cell, 2900mah rated for 10a but typically for a longer life use at a max of 6 -7a per cell. It is a very good cell.

Like the Sam 29E one of the most prolific cells used for batteries.

Been there and done it!...For drills and such like it's not an issue IMHO
