Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

Sorry but I don't know what you're getting at here. You're doing this the wrong way around - make points with words, and back them up with links. Just giving links is lazy, the links might die, people might not click them, and even if they do whatever you're trying to get across will probably get misunderstood

What are you hiding?

"It's called BS EN15194"

""the cycle be fitted with a plate securely fixed in a conspicuous and readily accessible position, visibly and durably marked". Other legislation, such as that for the old VED licence discs has always stressed the accessibility for ease of reading, and that is clearly the intention here. "

I can also agree with this. The critical part in the software is the torque sensor. I experimented a lot with strain gauges and the problem with it is the small range of linear deformation of the bottom bracket axle. It could well be that there are few ways to implement torque sensing on bikes, they are still using a concentric sleeve.
The torque sensor is different between the tsdz2 and dm02 and supposedly improved
The tsdz2b uses a magnet and hall sensor that deflect as the bottom bracket is stressed:
53743

The DM-02 has a strain gauge:
53745

With strain gauges there's a conductive pad that's glued to something that undergoes elastic deformation. As that metal deforms the resistance of the wire changes and can be picked up by the controller. I'm assuming it looks like this:
53746
53742
You get different orientations for these strain gauge pads that are better at detecting different kinds of strain, and the position is important. They're used in electronic weighing devices and bicycle power meters so it seems like the right approach.. though I'm no expert

Okay, then get a sticker that says that if you're worried about it. It's all nonsense anyway! I rented a haibike 250w yamaha pw-x3 and that thing had way more power than the tsdz2 500w motor I received stock. The manufacturers measure the continuous output power differently. But the point is what most people should be concerned about, and the fact is that if you stick to 15.5mph assisted then no one is going to bother you. But that's absurdly slow, so the vast majority will ignore that, at which point you're best defence is to not ride like a knob...

And to stay on topic here I should say that the DM-02 comes in a 250W variant, so if it's a personal concern for you then get that and you're safe

I experimented with the last implementation.
For the toseven implementation, I found the picture you posted previously from toseven leaflet. The picture was too fuzzy to make out the details but it looks like they replaced simply the Hall sensor in the TSDZ2 design with a strain gauge. There is no given proof that's better or worse. I guess that there are other changes to the design because I can't see how a strain gauge can detect a displacement of the concentric sleeve.

What are you hiding?

Is your 250W motor BS EN15194 compliant and is that compliance clearly labelled as required by UK law?

I agree with that, there's no proof it's any better. I'll be able to give more insights when my motor arrives

What do you mean what am I hiding? I openly am running a tsdz2b with OSF and cycle around assisted above 15.5mph. Shock horror!
You clearly are far more interested in the the specifics of UK pedelec law than you are in ebike technology - it feels like I'm talking to a religious zealot who is repeating scripture from their holy texts. It's not useful considering this is a discussion on emerging DIY ebike motors. I care about the technology, because it's interesting. Our conflicting views on ebike law has nothing to do with how good these To Seven motors are going to be

What are they being paid for? They don't answer clear questions.
Have you ever talked to a company representative before? They give you half the story, and it's on you to figure out the other half. What we know of the product is good. Why don't you buy one and see for yourself instead of all this conjecture?

This thread would be a fraction of the size without all the useless comments

I'll say I don't believe everyone and their mums should be one of these - we're early adopters of a new product and need to be realistic, but we may as well be constructive

No luck getting the info about TSDZ2 turbo.from Aikema. I mailed them at least 5 times till now.
If you can get the info from them about radius of main gear compartment, if it is smaller than regular TSDZ2, please?

Or better, acquire printable fitment template that you can share with forum users.

Many thanks

email info@aikema.com.cn
Here is the info on the TSDZ2B Turbo and a bit on their thru axle hub motor and hub with internal TS.

I will ask my rep.
I haven't got much out of Tongsheng either. When I know, you'll know too.

TSDZ2 fitment template exists, one user on the FB group made it. I am attaching PDF version to this post too. I tried it and TSDZ2 cannot fit my bike, chainstay problem.
FYI my TSDZ2B fouled the chainstay but it came with some shims which were enough to get it positioned correctly. I can't use my low gears but it's fine for all the gears you'd want to use. MTB low gears are a bit pointless on an eeb

Thank you so much. And thanks to whoever made it in a first place.
Can you open a new thread and post it again? Here it will vanish without trace in no time.

I have been told that my order for the Turbo will be ready just after their National Holiday (1-7 October). Shipment takes about 6-7 weeks. So they should be in UK around middle to end November. I expect aliexpress will have them in October and EU about the same time as me, November.

Did you maybe sent this fitment template PDF to your contact? Any chance they can provide the same for Turbo motor version?
