Not quite. If untrue, your 'opinions' constitute defamation (libel). I don't know for sure, but I'd guess that's against the rules of the forum, so you would not be entitled to air them here.Thank you Alan everyone is entitled to their opinion as I am.
Just as a suggestion for the people that have purchased a Haibike from Martin from ebike-shop get a thread started so collectively you can then try to get Haibike/Bosch to honour the warranty If you feel you have been duped or not explained that the warranty is void if a dongle is fitted. Can we at least have a few details Jresa?
There's a few of us on here including me who have bought bikes from Martin.
I can't speak for any of the others but I'm TOTALLY confused now as to what would happen if there was a problem with my Haibike (Sduro so Yamaha engine) requiring a warranty claim.
There are those that say no problem and then posts like yours which indicate that the bike would be reduced to scrap!
Martin for one reason or another has disappeared and it makes me worry....
Cheers
P Daddy
No. There is no obligation whatsoever for a dealer to state whether an accessory or vehicle is illegal if used. In UK law the onus is entirely upon the user, not the supplier, which is why powered pavement scooters, mini-motos, non type-approved bicycle petrol motors etc have always been on sale here and remain so, despite there being no legal public use for them.Again the point I'm making if bikes are illegally accessorised should this not be stated be the retailer whoever they are?
When you say do everything at your expense do you mean the cost of returning the bike to him,,?Hi Paddy
First of all have you got a Dongle, if the answer is yes, then you have no manufacturer's warranty, Full Stop.
Check at the Sale of Goods Act.
If there's a problem in the first instance go to the retailer. They should sort out the problem at their expense not yours! (Martin expected me to do everything at my expense).
If the retailer ceases trading or the retailer refuses to help you then go to the manufacturer which for the Haibike is Winora/Raleigh again this should be covered under the Sale of Goods Act. However, if you have a Dongle fitted they have no obligation to rectify any problems.
I hope this helps?
Just a simple yes or no as to whether he'd repair under warranty (or not) bikes sold by him with dongles supplied and fitted at the time of purchase.I am not surprised that Martin has "gone missing" after all prior to Jresa, joining in, this thread has been a sustained attack on him and his business . What could he possibly post on here without adding fuel to the fire.
As a concerned customer you might try contacting him outside the the forum...Just a simple yes or no as to whether he'd repair under warranty (or not) bikes sold by him with dongles supplied and fitted at the time of purchase.
I guess it would just put people's minds at rest and perhaps give his sales a boost at the same time??
You're right it'd probably just fuel a massive row!
Thanks JresaLikewise my friend and it was only when things went wrong I found out where I stood.
Yup, you're absolutely right Phill! As a concerned customer you might try contacting him outside the the forum...
well its a rudy good job i never got my bike of him as id be going ape ****.
id run his shop over
I would of thought that would depend on how many are going back to him faulty.I would be very surprised if Martin didn't honour any warranty, even if he did so out of his own back pocket.
