Then there may be some pick and mixing of what she has been charged with. There is a possibility of walking from the lot but then again it is a Magistrates Court so you never know.
The speed limit is adjusted like you do with most LCDs. I doubt that she could have figured that out or even thought of derestricting it herself. The only thing is if she had a son or husband that also uses it. I can't read that Daily Mail article. Is it clear yet whether the bike was derestricted or not? I wonder if the police just lifted the wheel off the ground, and it overshot, just like any ebike would. I wish I were there to defend her, assuming that the bike hadn't been tapered with.![]()

In the UK a driving licence IS required for L1e-A:
L1e-A Classification:
L1e-A vehicles are type-approved low-powered mopeds, which are generally restricted to 1,000W and 25kph (15.5 mph).
- Licence Requirements:
To legally ride an L1e-A on public roads, you'll need a valid provisional licence or an AM-category licence.
- CBT:
If you don't have a full driving licence or an AM-category licence, you will likely need to complete a CBT course to ride an L1e-A.
- Other Requirements:
In addition to a licence and potentially CBT, L1e-A vehicles also require registration, insurance, a number plate, and the wearing of a motorcycle helmet.
