I wonder if Engwetooexpensive didn't select the 48V version because it's a carbon frame? This chubby dude gets details wrong: Wales is part of the UK, and 24km is less than 15 miles - too much fat in the brain interfering with function perhaps.

"Mere seconds later he thrusts into him at around 60 miles per hour, then the helpless rider falls underneath with the vehicle thudding over him."

This is one of the problems riding an illegal high powered e bike , if there is an accident that would normally be the fault of a driver of a motor vehicle that is legally on the road.

I think they would just argue that the bike should not have been on the road so any accident is legally the bikes fault .

Thus if there where also fatalities caused by the accident the person riding an illegal motor vehicle could potentially end up doing life in jail or other very severe consequences.

Similar to drink or drug driving once someone is impaired they are always found to be guilty in any accident even if under normal conditions the accident may be the fault of the other party.

Shocking that they can get away with this in a town centre , i often see groups of youths when on some of the cycle lanes on what i can guess are stolen mopeds with reg plates removed usually a strong smell of weed when i pass them the strange thing is i recon they think im younger than i am as i have a snood over my face due to eating to many flys/bugs and my german style helmet with dark cycling glasses they usually nod to me, i dont know if its a good thing really.

Like everybody else, they think you're riding an illegal electric motorbike.
